iPad 2 screen probably leaked, to have the same old 768 x 1024 resolution?
And although this is not verified, a member of the 9 to 5 Mac community claims the screen with this serial number is definitely not coming with a resolution of 1536 x 2048.
If this one proves to be correct, that's the unfortunate end of the rumours that the iPad 2's resolution will quadruple to 1536 x 2048. Rather, the Apple tablet is expected to feature a 9.7-inch screen with the same old resolution of 768 x 1024 and a ppi (pixels per inch) density of 132.
The screen, which once again is manufactured by LG Phillips, is said to be lighter, over a mm thinner and with a smaller surrounding frame.
This report, if true, thrashes the notion that the iPad 2 is to feature a much-improved resolution, which may come as a disappointment for a few people - along with the rumours that the next-gen iPad will offer only a 1MP camera.
Take a look at the pictures below, and have your say - do you think this is the very first time we see the iPad 2 display in flesh?

Sorry, I'm not highly inclined to give a lot of credibility to a source that cannot even write in proper English or use proper grammar. I'd much rather wait and hear it from a reputable source than listen to rumors on the internet. IF there's any validity to these rumors, that's a shame. Although I'm not overly concerned about the iPad having a huge display resolution upgrade, I'm more interested in things like a pair of usable, quality cameras and perhaps the addition of some of the features people expected in the first incarnation, such as support for flash memory, perhaps a USB port, HDMI out, Bluetooth, etc. There are a lot of things higher on my personal priority list than a big jump in screen resolution. It'd be nice but it'd also be very expensive and probably drive the price of the device beyond anyone but the ultra-rich wallets.

why does phone arena report this crap. you have repeatly reported rumor after rumor over the last few years and you are always wrong.

They report the same rumors as engadget and every other tech blog. If they didn't report the rumor you still would have complained. Phone arena does a fine job, if you don't like what they publish read another tech blog.

iPad 2 is going to have less than a 1 megapixel camera and no improvements to the screen? Hmmmm sounds like Apple to me!

I'm sure that Apple will be putting a higher res screen on the next iPad than most people think possible. Look at the screen res on the iPhone 4, not very many people thought that that was going to happen but it did. As for being thinner and have a smaller surrounding, I say that they could be making the next iPad smaller but keeping the same size scree. We'll just have to wait and see what the next iPad has to offer if and when it is officially announced.

I love you fanboys that of out of their way to bash the iPad. Ya know what? Up to now, it has been the best tablet on the market. There are FINALLY some competitors worth noting coming like the Zoom, but it is sad that douches come on the internet to specifically hate on Apple. Without the iPad, tablets would be no where near as popular as tablets are today. Regardless of what you think it creates competition so suck it up.

wrong. its just an oversized ipod touch sans camera. there is nothing special about it. our school had bought a bunch of them not realizing that they are incapable of flash, and therefore nearly useless for the media needs they thought they were fullfilling. after being forced to use one, i pulled out my trusty galaxyS phone and proceeded to do everything on the webpages that the ipad could not.

Wrong. Up til now, it has been the only tablet on the market...that's been crammed down our throats and touted as being all that, when really it's a stripped down dumb version. Even ppl I know that use Apple won't buy it or say, "maybe the next one"...

This is very unfortunate if this turns out to be true. I won't be upgrading if this is the case. I will probably switch to Motorola Xoom.
