A new high-end smartphone is apparently getting prepped by ZTE. The ZTE A2017 has appeared on the GFXBench benchmark site, revealing some of the specs for what will possibly be the ZTE Axon 2. This is a flagship phone with specs worthy of the title. We're talking about a 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 820 SoC with a quad-core 2.1GHz CPU, and the Adreno 530 GPU.

The ZTE A2017 will come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage (51GB is available to the user). A 21MP rear camera shoots 4K video, and an 8MP front-facing camera takes care of selfies and video chats. Android 6.0.1 is pre-installed.

So far, there is no word on when we might see this model officially unveiled by the manufacturer. If this phone is coming to the U.S. like many of the Axon models did over the last year, we should see it pay a visit to the FCC for U.S. certification.
