Which smartphones and tablet were named the best by GSMA?
The group responsible for MWC (GSMA), has started handing out the 20th annual Global Mobile Awards in conjunction with the 2015 show in Barcelona. The best mobile tablet award was presented to the Microsoft Surface Pro 3. That is a pretty impressive win for the Windows 8.1 powered slate, which Microsoft has been promoting quite heavily. Back in November, Time magazine listed the slate as one of the top 25 inventions of 2014.

Among the awards handed out by GSMA, the best smartphone title was given to a pair of handsets. The Apple iPhone 6 and the LG G3 are sharing the trophy this year. The Motorola Moto E was announced as the best low-cost smartphone. Motorola Mobility picked up the award for the best wearable with the Motorola Moto 360 smartwatch, and Samsung KNOX was named the best security or anti-fraud product by GSMA. The  container comes with secure applications that can be used at work.

For you gamers out there, Gameloft's Asphalt 8: Airborne won the award for best mobile game. And Smart Communication's Spinnr Music was named the best mobile music app. You can check out the entire list of winners by clicking on the sourcelink.

LG G3

iPhone 6 and surface pro well deserved it. Though for a phablet, I'd prefer Note 4 over the G3 any day of the week.

I am not sure why plastic cannot be quality.

After I see s6 Edge, G4 has a lot of work to do.

It was probably for the best that they waited, because Samsung seems to have stolen the show with the S6. Indeed, the G4 will have to really "wow" people. I eagerly await the fruit of LG's labors.

I'm not sure why the smaller, lesser iPhone 6 (as opposed to the 6 Plus) shares the crown with the G3, which was an overall excellent phone, save for the battery life and other small issues. If anything, it should be the 6 Plus. Also, even though I own and love the G3, I wonder why the Note 4 didn't take the award. It was a much more advanced and well made phone.

Asphalt 8 is actually a good game, but the IAPs killed it. It required so much grinding to get cars that are comparable to the races they expect you to race. It's too bad too, because it was a really good game that could have been so much more. Oh well, back to Forza horizon 2 for racing.

Asphalt 8 is a rip off, not the best mobile game. >.> Graphics and first 3 chapters may fool you, cause the game after that just sucks, big time. Trying to make you buy stupid boosters, in-game cash, virtual cars, which are expensive as hell too! AI gets simply unfair by progressing the game, multiplayer is really basic and barely gives you any cash for races. LAME freemium GAMES.

The Motorola E was considered the best low cost smartphone with a slew of cons than pros. How could that possibly be? Can someone please help me to understand?

Congratulations Microsoft. That said I prefer my Samsung Note 8.0 LTE because it's way more MOBILE, and provides cell phone functionality to boot. I only paid 1/5 of the price of the Microsoft tablet for it, contract free. I had to spend $100 on the 128GB microSD card, though.

Really? The iPhone 6 and G3 over something like the Note 4? *facepalm*

maybe it lost out cause of touchwiz, but the note 4 was much better phablet than the g3.

but lets face it for mid-size phones iPhone> S5 anyday. S5 was a big let down ,w which is why samsung completely revamped it.

Congrats to Apple. Besides note 4 I don't see any phone challenging the iPhone in 2014. This year is the year of samsung and the edge. #teams6edge.

Surface pro 3 is much better than any tablet due to not really being a tablet. I would pick it every day of the week. Now with phone I'm not sure why the note 4 didn't win this as its the best phablet out there period
