You're not getting off the hook that easy, Samsung!

The Galaxy S26 Ultra has a fantastic display that is capable of hiding on-screen content from passersby, but it also has some problems. One of these issues that have surfaced recently is that the display develops a reddish tint in the center, and Samsung users aren’t about to let the company off the hook.

Where’s my replacement, Samsung?

The Galaxy S26 Ultra red tint problem isn’t just affecting a small number of users. In fact, it’s widespread enough that Samsung has had to release a statement, which is more than what the company has done to address the phone’s display giving users eye strain and nausea.

In a poll we asked you what your approach would be to the problem if your expensive flagship smartphone developed this defect one day. Unsurprisingly, over 61 percent of you said that you would ask Samsung for a replacement unit.

Off to greener pastures

Meanwhile, over 31 percent of respondents said that they would return their Galaxy S26 Ultra and get a different device instead. This is also a very fair approach, in my opinion, as I would be pretty mad too if my flagship phone developed a problem just a few months after launch.

Thankfully, the issue seems to be more of a software bug than anything else. Samsung has asked customers in Korea to take their affected phones to official Samsung service centers to get them recalibrated.

In addition, the company will be releasing a software update soon which will hopefully fix the problem for everyone around the world.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is worth it

Some of you — around 7.5 percent, to be more precise — said that you would be willing to try and ignore the reddish tint if it wasn’t too noticeable.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is a fantastic phone in most aspects, so overlooking this one defect might not be too big of a problem, especially for customers who aren’t too particular about their phones’ displays.

What about you? How would you have approached this issue?

I would have demanded a replacement

Personally, I would have demanded a replacement Galaxy S26 Ultra if the upcoming software update doesn’t resolve the issue. I might have even asked for my money back, as I would have lost faith in the phone.

After all, what’s the point of paying so much to get a premium smartphone if it’s going to randomly get problems that, in my opinion, completely ruin the user experience?
