HTC One X9 smiles for the camera once again
Just the other day, we showed you some new photos of the HTC One X9. The mid-range handset is expected to be launched early in 2016. Today, a whole new set of photos has been discovered, once again revealing the BoomSound speakers, the metal build, a SIM card slot that doesn't require a pin to open, and the housing for the rear camera that harkens back to the Nexus 6P.

Let's go over the specs again. The HTC One X9 features a 5.5-inch screen, carrying a 1080 x 1920 resolution. The MediaTek 6795 chipset is under the hood, with a true octa-core CPU and the IMG G6200 GPU. Two variants of the phone will be offered. One will have 2GB of RAM with 16GB of ROM, and the other will offer 3GB of RAM with 16GB of ROM.

The 13MP rear-facing camera includes OIS, and the camera in front is a 4MP Ultrapixel snapper capable of taking selfies in low-light conditions. A 3000mAh battery keeps the lights on.

If these specs are legit, HTC listened to the many complaints made about the anemic 2150mAh battery on the HTC One A9, and is beefing up the power plant on the HTC One X9.

Check out the latest pictures of the HTC One X9 by clicking on the slideshow below.

Thanks for the tip!

But nice placement of logo which don't take extra space and speaker design.

As far as even the new UIs concerned, it looks Meh. The old Sense was much better than this.

Feel for HTC who is much better than the upcoming Chinese Brands but their phones havent been good off late. The first generation One M7 was surely way better than iPhone.

The buttons make it look like a cheap chinaphone.

Symmetrical design and capacitive buttons give me hope for the M10. Kudos for the new design language.

I actually would've liked this better with on-screen buttons, personally

No QHD is a shame by 2015 standard. No wonder HTC is drowning...

QHD Is Stupid, A Phone That Does Not Exceed 5.5in Does Not Need It.

Phones dont need 10mp cameras
Phones dont need 3 GB of ram
Phones dont need giant batteries.
Phones dont need to be bigger than 4.7 inches.
Phones dont need S Pens.

Do you see how flawed your logic is? We don't need any of those features but we love them. People also love QHD screens for better media consumption. Im sure people who have the S6 would definitely disagree with you. Smh.

Na Phones need 3+ GB of ram, phones need to be bigger than 4.7in, and phones need at least A 12mp camera. Those are things Phones need cause they make for A better phone but QHD does not make for A better phone just more power consumption, lower frame rates when playing games and lag caused by low framerates do to such A high resolution.

QHD Is Stupid And Shouldn't Exist On A Smartphones Until Mobile GPUS Can Handle It, Without The Consequences That Current QHD Phones Suffer From.

FYI, I Have An S6 LOL.

Are you being serious? People love their note 5s and every other phone with the QHD screens. You bugging. And youre basically saying because you dont think its needed..its stupid. Which is asinine.

The Note 5*** Has A Larger Than 5.5in Screen So QHD Isn't Lost On The Device. My S6 Has A Great Screen No Doubt And I Love The Phone But I Would Love It Even More If It Didn't Have QHD. The Pros Of QHD Are Severely Outweighed By The Cons.

Quite disappointing that HTC(which once had a great innovative eye) chose to mimic iPhone in every way starting from the design in A9 to the UI in X9. How are they going to be any different from the likes of Meizu, Xiaomi...this is not going to help them at all.

Wonder how a small aspect like the Ultrapixel Camera in One M7 is the cause of their debacle and made them mimic Apple.

PS:I am no fanboy of HTC.

Maybe it's a gesture based app drawer instead of an actual icon. Gesturing into the app drawer is a feature on some launchers, I wouldn't be surprised if HTC put it into Sense.

Maybe the lack of is for the Chinese/Asian market...?

I remember watching the recently leaked Samsung A9 video and also noticed the lack of an app drawer. I would be ok with gesturing into an app drawer as suggested by Bezerk000. I've done the same when I've applied Nova launcher on my phones before in place of more usable icons.

Because it is MTK and therefore equipped with China Sense (not full Sense)

How did I miss that...? Yuck, they went back to a slightly less Apple design, just to copy their UI

From the rumored specs, it's actually the same height as the Note 5, but a little more narrow. That extra height is accounted for by the front facing speakers.

On their flagship phone they should replace the capacitive home button with a fingerprint scanner.

I am surprised with this article comparing the rear camera housing to that of Nexus6P; veterans following the smartphone market for a while would recognize this to be an original in-house design inspired by the 2012 HTC One V, minus the trademark 'chin'!

I have my doubts about some of these specs. Wouldn't make sense for HTC to go with a cheaper processor made by Mediatek rather than Qualcomm especially if this is gonna be their flagship phone. Also I'd be kinda surprised if they didn't go with QHD by this point even if its not necessary and I expect 3GB of RAM and I'm not crazy about capacitive buttons.

If people complained about the A9 battery, they probably never used one. Mine lasts all day with moderate usage and heavy days a quick bump charges it pretty fast...

BTW: phone looks ok,nothing special. But there are NO BEZELS :) :)

So glad that finally HTC came to its senses and decided to take off that HTC logo which is right above the keys. It was so annoying.

I lost all hope in HTC, had the M7 and M8 now HTC just copies Samsung and iPhone. Horrible
