Fresh Fiber kickstarts a custom 3D case campaign for iPad
Some of you have heard about 3D printing, but even though the technology is there, it still seems to be far away from mass market. Not for long, if Fresh Fiber succeed in their $20k Kickstarter fundraiser goal, which is set to bring custom 3D cases for Apple's iPad.
Dutch designers from Fresh Fiber promise to bring “the worlds first online tool by which people can virtually sculpt their personal text, logo, name or icon, into 3D printed iPad Cases. In this way, the Case design becomes one of a kind, a personal story about you.” Well, the project depends on the generosity of people willing to make their gadgets personal.
And while this particular project is tailor-designed for the first iPad and users can opt to get a case for the next-gen iPad when it appears, others on the fundraising website such as the PadPivot, are targeted at all tablets. Check out the links below for all the inspiring details.
