You have to hand it to Rovio. With 8 million downloads on Christmas Day and 17.4 million new iOS and Android activations on that day, we can assume that 46% of newly received iOS and Android devices had the game loaded up on December 25th. That is only an assumption, obviously, but still shows you how much a part of the mobile ecosystem the game has become. With 30 million downloads of the game taking place during Christmas week, Angry Birds has become one of the first apps downloaded by those receiving a new iOS or Android device.
