Say hello to my little foldable friend: this Galaxy Z Fold 8 costs $12,560

In this country, you gotta make the money first. Then when you get the money, you get the power. Then when you get the power, then you get this limited edition smartphone.

It's Friday, so some of you might be feeling a bit like Scarface, the Godfather or the Joker from the self-titled hit movies. Guess what? If you've got about $13,000 on you—and you simply don't know what to spend it on, you could, in fact, feel truly like Scarface, the Godfather or the Joker.

No, no, you don't have to do anything illegal or outrageous. You just have to spend 13 grand on the new Galaxy Z Fold 8, as it now comes in several very special editions.

When was the last time your phone got stolen out of your hands?

You get what you pay for

Caviar has done it again. The company that turns ordinary phones into art pieces (I'm not saying they're "beautiful", as this concept is sometimes subjective) now remakes both the wider-than-taller Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra (which is the true successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 from last year). Recently, we got the Messi edition.

Now, you can snag either of the phones in several variants that are meant for cinephiles. First, we've got the Scarface model, featuring Tony Montana with his cool red shirt and white suit on the back of the phone:

The portrait is done really well and you can clearly see the psychopathy in the eyes of Al Pacino's character. This isn't your typical Pacino portrait, though.

This model costs $12,560 (for the Z Fold 8) because it's handcrafted using a complex enamel technique. The phone's new back combines white and warm gold and vibrant red tones. There's a luxurious 24-karat gold plating that highlights the contours of the portrait. Yeah, it's high jewelry territory alright.

Next, we get the absolute classic—Marlon Brando's Don Vito Corleone from the masterpiece The Godfather:

I'm afraid Caviar overdid it here and Brando's facial features are too busy. Still, we get 24K fine gold coating highlights. If you want a Godfather Z Fold 8 Ultra, you'll have to pay $12,990. And just for the 256 GB variant. If you need 1 TB of storage, the price goes up to $13,700.

How about the Joker?

If you want something more contemporary, you can always get the Joker variant. Here it is:

Once again, we're dealing with gold and high-end jewelry. While, personally, I'm also not that impressed with the portrait itself, I must say that Caviar today is doing much better than the last time when it tried to slap the Joker on a Galaxy foldable. That happened back in 2020.

Is there something else?

No, these phones act like the normal $1,900 Z Fold 8 and the $2,100 Z Fold 8 Ultra. The extra 10 grand you're spending is for the golden back plate.

Your apps won't load faster, but if you draw out your phone in the wrong neighborhood, you'll be able to see your phone literally fly out of your hands.
