While everybody's talking about the iPhone Duo, there's one severely underrated foldable that's now completely free, thanks to the latest T-Mobile deal — the Motorola Razr Plus (2026). Honestly, if I ever buy a foldable, it'd be a flip phone — and specifically a Motorola Razr.

Of course, there are some caveats to the "free" statement. Normally, such deals require a subscription plan, and this one is no exception. To get the massive $999 discount and snag your Motorola Razr Plus (2026) practically for free, you will need to sign up for T-Mobile's Experience Beyond plan.
This option doesn't require you to trade in an old device, but it's the most expensive plan the carrier has to offer. It comes with a lot of bells and whistles, though. The Experience Beyond subscription comes with unlimited talk, text, and premium data on T-Mobile’s network.
You can also set your phone as a hotspot and use unlimited data in that configuration as well. The plan guarantees coverage in over 215 countries worldwide, and you also get Netflix and Hulu discounts.
The Razr Plus (2026) is a flagship in disguise

The Motorola Razr Plus (2026) sits in the middle of the company's flip portfolio. It's not as expensive as the Ultra model, which starts at $1,500, but it's also a bit pricier than the base Motorola Razr, which sells for $799.
The Razr Plus retails for $1,099, and in my opinion, you're getting a legitimate flagship for that kind of money. The phone features a great 6.9-inch main OLED panel with Full HD resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate, plus a big 4-inch cover screen.
The dual 50MP camera system is surprisingly potent, and it scored 138 out of 158 in our Camera test. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset — an efficient version of the flagship processor, but still quite powerful — and Motorola paired it with 12GB of RAM.
The phone also comes with a 4,500 mAh battery, and it managed 8 hours and 13 minutes in our battery test, beating all other flip competitors in this price range.
The titanium hinge is very solid, and you're getting five years of software support. So, if you fancy a new flip phone, this deal is a clear win.
How much for T-Mobile's Experience Beyond plan?
The Experience Beyond plan is not cheap — it's T-Mobile's most expensive offering and starts at $100/month for 1 line. That's a lot of money, but if you factor in the $1,099 price tag of the Motorola Razr Plus (2026), the deal starts to make sense.
Think of it as paying for the phone in installments while having the best T-Mobile plan at the same time. Or vice versa — paying for the best plan and getting a great flip phone for free. Either way, the deal is great if you're looking to switch carriers or sign up for a new plan.
What are the alternatives? iPhone Duo will set you back $1,000 more
You can get $1000 off the iPhone Duo but it's a risk amidst the ongoing crack gate. | Image by T-Mobile
I know the iPhone Duo is all the rage, and T-Mobile offers the exact same deal for Apple's new foldable. You can get $1,000 off the Duo's $1,999 regular price if you sign up for the Experience Beyond plan.
Granted, you still need to pay another grand, and the phone is not free like the Motorola Razr Plus, but you're getting the phone everyone's talking about.
The big caveat here is called "Crack-gate" and has to do with the display of the Duo failing after mere hours of use. Apple says this "day one manufacturing" issue is limited to only a handful of units, but it's a risk. There's an alternative deal at AT&T which is marginally better - find it below.
