The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold might have been inspired by leaked iPhone Duo designs, but that doesn’t mean that Samsung didn’t give the phone its own spin. I love the Fold 8 a lot more than the iPhone Duo, particularly for one reason which I’ll share below, and I’m not the only one, as it turns out.
Far from it, in fact.
Galaxy Z Fold 8, the best passport-style foldable
In a recent poll, we asked you which passport-style foldable phone looks the best out of the small selection that is available to us today. Almost 80 percent of you went with the Galaxy Z Fold 8, the same option that I chose as well.
The iPhone Duo might be getting all the press attention right now, but the Fold 8 seems to have sunk its claws into our hearts. Speaking of the iPhone Duo…
At least some of you like the iPhone Duo more

It’s not all bad news for the iPhone Duo. A little less than 12 percent of voters said that the iPhone Duo was the best-looking passport-style foldable currently on the market because of how polished it looks.
Admittedly, Apple does seem to have spent a lot of time making sure that the phone feels great in the hand and that its UI works flawlessly (most of the time), so it’s not surprising that those aspects won some of you over. Others might like the more rounded design or the matte-like nano-texture display as well.

Not everyone is on board, though
The remaining 8.3 percent of respondents voted for neither phone, saying that they found the new passport-style form factor a bad evolution of foldable design. Sales for the Fold 8 and the Huawei Pura X Max put this subset of voters in the minority, though. What about you?

Give me Samsung’s take any day
I do think that the iPhone Duo is a pretty phone, but it just doesn’t do it for me. There are a few design choices that Apple made that make the Galaxy Z Fold 8 seem like the much better phone, in my opinion.
Many of you seem to agree too, as Fold 8 sales seem to have spiked after Apple showed off the iPhone Duo.

Abdullah loves smartphones, Virtual Reality, and audio gear. Though he covers a wide range of news his favorite is always when he gets to talk about the newest VR venture or when Apple sets the industry ablaze with another phenomenal release.
