The Galaxy Tab S12 duo isn't exactly anticipated with a lot of excitement by many high-end tablet fans after those awful prices and far too familiar designs were essentially confirmed in recent weeks, but if you at least hoped Samsung's latest iPad Pro alternatives would be released any day now, that no longer seems very likely either.
Even though the Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra went official on September 4, 2025, and the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra were formally unveiled on September 26, 2024, it appears that the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Tab S12 Ultra will almost certainly keep you waiting until next month.
Save the October 7 date!
No, this is not official yet (because it's a little too early for that), but Evan Blass is so rarely wrong about this type of information that you might as well circle the October 7 date in your calendar... apps.

Obviously, that's probably when the Galaxy Tab S12 Plus and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra are slated for an announcement rather than a commercial debut, although a global release should follow quickly thereafter. Perhaps as early as October 16 based on the recent launch schedule of the Galaxy S26 FE handset, for instance, or maybe even on October 9.
Either way, it must feel a little weird for hardcore Samsung fans to be kept waiting this long after so many credible and comprehensive leaks suggested the Galaxy Tab S12 duo was ready for primetime weeks ago. While I could speculate that this "delay" has something to do with a mysterious last-minute production issue of some sort, I really don't have any inside information to support such a theory.

According to a recent and extremely trustworthy report, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is set to start at a recommended price of $1,399.99 in the US with a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor under the hood and basically all other specs and features "borrowed" from last year's Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.

That includes a somewhat divisive screen cutout (aka notch) that's (partly) visible in the latest product depiction leaked by Evan Blass on X, as well as a crazy thin 5.1mm profile and a gargantuan 11,600mAh battery.

The 12.4-inch Galaxy Tab S12 Plus is naturally also expected to pack a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 SoC and cost a whopping $1,199.99 of its own in an entry-level variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage space. This model almost makes sense given that the Galaxy Tab S11 family doesn't include a Plus version, but the Tab S12+ doesn't sound like a very big improvement over the Tab S10+ from all the way back in 2024, and obviously, that thing is pretty easy to come by at a substantial discount nowadays too.

Then you've got the just-released Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2 that you should also strongly consider as a powerful alternative to the Tab S12 Ultra with an expansive 13-inch screen of its own, a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, and both a keyboard and stylus (rather than just a stylus) included in a reasonable $999.99 list price.
In short, Samsung is looking at an uphill battle in its attempt to gain back some of the tablet market share it's lost over the last couple of years, and the late Galaxy Tab S12 series release is clearly not doing the company any favors.
