Google Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 to get certain Galaxy S26 and Fold 8 features

Google might be the king of the backport, but Samsung is moving four Galaxy AI features found in the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and the Galaxy S26 series to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. The features will be available to users of last year's Galaxy foldables through the release of the second One UI 9 beta.
Four Galaxy AI features are coming to the 2025 Galaxy Z foldables
The four features heading to the 2025 Galaxy foldables are Call Brief, Custom Cards in Now Brief, Now Nudge, and My FanCam. These exact four features were recently added to last year's Galaxy S25 flagship series.
Call Brief shows you relevant information about the person you're on the phone with
Call Brief gives you relevant information about the person you are speaking with including important conversations and messages, while reminding you about upcoming events involving you and this person. This feature will save you from having to look through other apps to get this information about the person on the phone with you.
Custom Cards in Now Brief allow users to build personalized AI summaries from the user's favorite apps. The data sources for Now Brief include apps such as Samsung Health, Weather, and YouTube, and these cards can be scheduled to surface at a specific time each day.
Now Nudge is an interesting and well-named feature as it looks at what data is on your display and suggests what steps you should take next. For example, if an on-screen conversation discusses making plans, you might receive a proactive suggestion to open your calendar and see a prompt that will open it for you.

No, Samsung's My FanCam is not used by Coldplay
The My FanCam sounds like it might be used to take inappropriate photos or images for a certain website with "fans" in its name. It also sounds like the type of camera a band like Coldplay might use to catch cheating couples engaged in PDA (public display of affection) while sitting in the stands.
Actually, the My FanCam feature allows the user to select a person in an existing video and crop the video to keep the selected person in focus. This is a great tool for capturing on video a particular person in a big crowd.
One UI 9 Beta 2 will also exterminate some bugs such as one that causes the Wi-Fi on Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 units to disconnect. Other flaws listed on Samsung's changelist that are getting patched by the latest Beta release include Bixby Vision translation errors, problems with the gaming controller connection, and a flaw that caused the Contacts list to crash.
The latest One UI 9 Beta for the 2025 foldables will also fix a pretty big bug that caused the Galaxy Z Fold 7's internal display to stop working after being unfolded. It also exterminated a bug that prevented the 15x video zoom feature from working.
The update is expected to be rolled out to Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 units in South Korea, the US, India, and the UK. So far, it has been released in South Korea. To install the beta, you need to open the Samsung Members app and sign in with your Samsung Members information. Tap the One UI 9 Beta Program banner on the home screen to enroll your Galaxy foldable.

How to install the beta on your Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7
Once you are enrolled, go to Settings > Software update > Check for updates. This will download and install the beta. Make sure you have at least a 30% battery charge before starting to install the beta.
To reiterate, the changelist for One UI 9 Beta 2 is as follows:
- Added new AI features.
- Fixed Bixby Vision translation errors.
- Improved temporary crashing in the Contacts app.
- Improved Wi-Fi connection dropouts.
- Fixed an issue where 15x zoom did not work when Video mode > Zoom max was set.
- Fixed an issue where only the cover screen was displayed and the main screen did not appear when the cover was opened.
- Fixed an issue where the gaming controller would not connect.
