Pixel users have been enjoying the Android 17 update for more than a month now; however, its stable build is yet to be made available on many brands, one of which is Motorola. The company has already been testing the Android 17 beta on some of its phones, which include the Razr 70 Plus, Razr Plus 2026, and a few more. It's now finally time for these, and many other Motorola devices, to receive the stable Android update.

List of Motorola phones that will receive Android 17

The Lenovo-owned smartphone brand has released an official blog post (in Spanish) confirming the names of more than 50 Motorola phones that are set to receive the Android 17 upgrade. Here's the full list:

The list appears to be incomplete

If you go through the shared list carefully, you will realize that many big names are missing. For instance, the Edge 50 Neo and Moto G56, which were released in 2024 and 2025, respectively.

The former has been promised 5 years of major OS updates, meaning Motorola will keep providing the latest Android updates to this device till 2029. Still, the phone isn't mentioned in the blog shared by Lenovo. This gives a strong indication that the list is incomplete and needs to be updated.

Motorola fans on online forums like Reddit also believe the same. Users are surprised to find that popular names like the Edge 50 Pro and Edge 60 Neo are not mentioned in the list.

What features will the latest update bring?

Some users who have been using the beta version of the latest Android update on their Motorola phones have shared a few changes they have noticed. X user @Fanboy_Moto claims that the haptics have been improved, there's a new control center, icons appear tinted, and there are new status bar icons as well.

Another user shared the changes they experienced on their Edge 60 Pro upon upgrading through a Reddit post. You can check out the complete list here, but some noticeable upgrades according to me are a new dynamic island, a new volume interface, a revamped settings menu, and a new notification management system.

When will all the compatible devices receive the update

Motorola used to have a very bad reputation for providing updates very late to its devices. However, the tech giant has improved on this front a lot in recent years, and the same is expected to continue in the future as well. That said, the stable Android 17 update is currently rolling out to Edge 2025.

The brand is reportedly looking forward to making the latest build available on the Razr and Edge models first. The G series devices might have to wait a bit longer to receive the update. You can check if the Android 17 update is available on your device by going to Settings > System > System updates.
