Are you looking for a more productive and versatile device than pretty much all the best Android tablets around right now? You don't need to look any further than Microsoft's latest Surface Pro generation, but you do have to be ready to spend a lot of money on the new 13-inch powerhouse.

Unveiled just a little over a month ago with Snapdragon X2 chips in tow, the Windows-based iPad Pro alternative normally starts at a whopping $1,499.99, essentially matching the list price of Apple's newest 13-inch flagship in an entry-level 256GB storage variant after a recent increase.

It's taken Amazon less than a month to viciously slash the list prices of Microsoft's latest and greatest Surface Pro tablet with a 13-inch screen in tow and Snapdragon X2 processing power. The most affordable Surface Pro (2026) variant is marked down by a cool $300, while a higher-end configuration with 1TB storage is incredibly discounted by no less than 450 bucks already.

While no one expected the Surface Pro (2026) to become even more expensive shortly after its commercial debut, the chances of scoring a substantial discount this summer also seemed extremely slim at first. But believe it or not, the most affordable model is already marked down by an impressive $300 in a single Platinum colorway, and a higher-end configuration with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage is even more impressively discounted by 450 bucks from a regular price of $2,099.99.

The differences between those two models are more significant than you might think, as the entry-level variant only comes with a 10-core Snapdragon X2 Plus processor and LCD touchscreen in addition to 16GB RAM and a modest 256 gigs of internal storage space, while the considerably costlier configuration bumps the two former specs up to a 12-core Snapdragon X2 Elite chipset and a higher-quality OLED panel.

There's also a third variant to consider, mind you, and Amazon charges a cool $300 less than usual for that too with a 10-core Snapdragon X2 Plus SoC, LCD screen, 16GB RAM, and 512GB storage. This one is available in a grand total of three different color options, and because it typically costs $1,599.99, it's now almost as affordable as an Apple M5-powered iPad Pro 11 (2025) with just 256GB storage.

All in all, you're clearly looking at some of the best tablet deals you can make this summer, and of course, the Surface Pro (12th Edition) shines in a number of other ways besides raw power, multitasking skills, and digital hoarding room, sporting, for instance, a beautiful PixelSense display, promising up to 15.5 hours of battery life between charges in continuous local video playback time, and rocking two USB Type-C ports for unrivaled versatility and convenience.
