The iPhone Duo is popular among celebrities, it turns out. Apple's new CEO, John Ternus, showed up at the recent Emmy Awards carrying an iPhone Duo, and reportedly, Hollywood stars tried to get Apple's first foldable early, "hitting him up for the phone privately."

According to Page Six, Apple CEO John Ternus was seen showing off the iPhone Duo on the red carpet during the Emmy Awards event on Monday.
Ternus allegedly attended a private party at the Peacock Theater the night before the Emmys. An inside source shared that "it was a small gathering with a lot of talent," where Ternus was mixing with "actors and other creatives."
One top Hollywood executive said they heard celebrities asking Ternus to get them on the waitlist for the iPhone Duo.

On Monday night, Ternus was stopped by reporters on the red carpet and pulled out an iPhone Duo. The clip went viral on social media and sparked a ton of comments.
I couldn't help but notice how dim the iPhone Duo's screen looked in that clip. This is one of the rare instances where we get to see Apple's foldable in real-life conditions.
The iPhone Duo uses a new nano-textured matte coating on its inner display, which is supposed to battle reflections and hide the crease. The screen itself is one of the most expensive components of the phone.

Early indications show that Apple got it right with the iPhone Duo. Even though there aren't any groundbreaking innovations inside the phone, people are talking about it everywhere.
It seems that the UI transition animation for closing and opening the iPhone Duo is one of the things people are crazy about. Enthusiasts have already ported the animation to the Galaxy Z Fold 8, and one developer even created a version for MacBooks.
Meanwhile, if you're not a Hollywood celebrity, the iPhone Duo will be available for preorder on October 16 and will officially go on sale a week later on October 23. The base model starts at $1,999, so you'd better start saving!
