Renders of the iPhone 18 Pro.
Front Page Tech's Jon Prosser just keeps on going even after last year's shocking lawsuit by Apple. The tech giant claimed that Prosser and Michael Ramacciotti plotted to break into a developmental iPhone owned by Apple employee and Ramacciotti friend Ethan Lipnik. Apple's suit states that on a FaceTime video call, Ramacciotti showed Prosser iOS 26 running on the developmental iPhone owned by Lipnik. Using tech to capture the FaceTime call, Prosser created a video that he used to make recreated renders of iOS 26 for an FPT video.

A change to Face ID will make the iPhone 18 Pro series display look different.

Last August, Prosser was back at it revealing renders of the iPhone 17 Pro. He's also released renders of the iPhone Fold. Now, Prosser is once again revealing a new iPhone render and this time it is the iPhone 18 Pro. Jon mentions a very interesting point right off the bat. Since the iPhone 18 base model will not be released until early 2027, only the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Fold will be released this year. And that means something very important. The iPhone 18 Pro Max will be the low-priced iPhone option this year. Yikes!

Big changes are coming to the display on the front of the device. With Face ID moving under the screen, there will be a front-facing camera lens on the upper left of the display. And according to Prosser, the Dynamic Island has become such an integral part of the iPhone experience that it will remain on the phone but in a different location. The Dynamic Island will be smaller because, as Prosser notes, it won't have to compete with the Face ID array. Despite this change, the Dynamic Island will continue to function the same as it always does.

The new Front Page Tech (FPT) video states that Apple will have three new color options for the iPhone 18 Pro line:

  • Burgundy
  • Brown
  • Purple

The main rear camera will get a huge new feature that improves photos taken in low-light

The main camera on the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max could feature a variable aperture. The aperture is the opening on the lens that allows light to reach the sensor. A variable aperture is like the pupil in your eyes. It opens and closes to allow more or less light in. It can be used to create a natural background blur (Bokeh). A narrower aperture keeps the background sharp and in focus. In low-light environments, opening the lens to its maximum width will reduce noise in the images you snap.

Prosser warns that he would not be surprised if variable aperture were found on the iPhone 18 Pro Max only. He also points out that last year there was talk about variable aperture coming to the iPhone 17 Pro line, and it never appeared on those phones. The Camera Control button, which currently responds to touch gestures and pressure. With the iPhone 18 Pro series, the Camera Control button will work with pressure only saving Apple some manufacturing costs and making the phone easier to repair.

This is the biggest change coming to the iPhone 18 Pro amd iPhone 18 Pro Max

Under the hood, the iPhone 18 Pro will be powered by the A20 Pro application processor (AP). This will make the iPhone 18 Pro series the first iPhones to feature a 2nm AP. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will be equipped with the second-generation Apple C2 in-house modem chip.

Prosser says that the biggest change to the iPhone 18 Pro line this year will be the addition of 5G via Satellite. Owners of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will be able to use satellite based 5G signals instead of those available via cell towers. This could feature natural usage, which means you won't have to point your phone at the sky for connectivity. Instead, your iPhone could connect to a satellite while in your pocket or your car.

We are only eight months away from the 2026 iPhone new phones event, but that means there are still a few months of leaks and renders ahead.
