The original iPhone Air was no doubt a stunning device, but it was also full of compromise. Now, according to the latest rumor, Apple may have fixed one of the biggest iPhone Air flaws, and I might actually consider buying the iPhone Air 2.
The iPhone Air 2 battery expected to last 30 hours on a charge

The original iPhone Air launched with a 3,149mAh cell inside, and Apple rates it as having up to 27 hours of offline video playback on a single charge.
The expected battery upgrade for the iPhone Air 2 is around 351 mAh, or 11%, compared to its predecessor, so 30 hours of video playback may very well be possible.
The battery upgrade could bring the iPhone Air 2 close to the vanilla iPhone 17 when it comes to battery life. This could turn into a major driver for sales if the Air 2 indeed manages to match the iPhone 17 on longevity.
Would you buy the iPhone Air 2 if it has a dual camera system and better battery life?
The upcoming A20 chip might help a lot

Apple is preparing a new 2-nanometer chipset for the next generation of iPhone devices. The upcoming A20 chip is expected to be very efficient, boosting the battery life of all new iPhone models.
The aforementioned iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to get a 500 mAh battery upgrade to 5,567 mAh. If the A20 chip is as efficient as believed, the iPhone Air 2 could benefit and offer a solid day of heavy use — something owners of the original model complained about.
We don't know how Apple managed to find extra space for a bigger battery inside the thin body of the Air 2, but the upgrade was much needed.
iPhone Air 2 expected specs and features

Digital Chat Station shared some more information about the iPhone Air 2 in the original Weibo post. According to the leaker, the Air 2 will use the same 6.55-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz ProMotion as its predecessor, and the usual Face ID and Dynamic Island features, as well.
One of the biggest upgrades is the move to a dual camera system. The original iPhone Air sported just a single 48MP main camera on its back, and now Apple is allegedly fitting an ultrawide next to it.
These specs are pretty set in stone now, as many leakers and industry insiders have corroborated the numbers, but the question remains. Would you buy the iPhone Air 2? If the price remains the same, and if indeed the phone comes equipped with a dual camera system, and better battery life, of course.
I might finally buy an iPhone Air 2

I did the initial testing and review of the original iPhone Air, and even though the phone had many compromises, I really liked it.
The only thing that stopped me from usurping our review unit and using it as a daily driver was the abysmal battery life. Even the single camera wasn't that much of a problem. I rarely use the ultra-wide camera on any phone, to be honest.
So, now that Apple seems to have fixed those two issues and the phone remains as thin as its predecessor, I might want to get one as a daily driver. What about you? Would you buy the iPhone Air 2 if it indeed comes with a dual camera system and a better battery life?
