Samsung just fixed the most annoying part about owning a Galaxy phone

But for now, the feature is exclusive to a select few devices.

Samsung just dropped a surprisingly useful feature

Warranty and care menu gives you useful insights in one place. | Images by Samsung

As part of One UI 9, Samsung is bringing key device support features right into your Settings app. The Warranty and care menu now shows all your essential details, including the remaining warranty period and your Samsung Care+ enrollment.

The info isn't just limited to your Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Z Fold 8, or Z Flip 8. In fact, the Warranty and care page shows similar details for all Galaxy devices connected to your Samsung account.

Samsung is also bringing a new Diagnostics feature that can help you identify different problems with your phone and suggest relevant steps to resolve them. You can even use Bixby's help to troubleshoot certain issues, making the whole process of finding answers to everyday problems much more effortless.

Repairing your phone gets easier, too

When the problem can't be solved with a quick chat with Bixby, One UI 9's Warranty and care menu allows users to book a repair with a Samsung-authorized repair center with a quick tap at the "Request a repair" button.

Galaxy phone owners can even get estimated repair costs for major parts at a Samsung-authorized service center and compare them with the cost of the same repair through Samsung Care+.

Convenience is key

Let's face it: nobody wants to deal with problems. But when it comes to owning tech, everyday issues are inevitable.

And while some users may have been disappointed by Samsung's support experience in the past, the company now shows how easy it can be to manage essential device information. Built with convenience in mind, the Warranty and care menu can make tedious tasks feel way less annoying, and I think that more brands should strive for that level of simplicity.

While it's currently available on the latest Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 models, the feature could eventually reach other flagship Galaxy phones running a stable version of One UI 9.

Would that make you switch?

I wouldn't expect the Warranty and care menu alone to convince anyone to switch to Samsung. That's really not the point here.

I do, however, think small additions like this one can shape how we feel about a product over time. When a feature works without getting in your way, it can quietly turn an otherwise forgettable interaction into something that leaves a genuinely positive impression.
