Demand for this Galaxy Z Fold 8 color is nuts
Samsung has seen strong pre-orders for the wider and shorter Galaxy Z Fold 8 model, especially in this color.

Pre-order demand for the wider Galaxy Z Fold 8 is red hot | Image by PhoneArena
Ever since Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 8 at its latest Unpacked event a week ago today, pre-order demand for the device has been red hot. In some markets, shipping dates have been pushed out to as late as November. Some colors, including Samsung.com's exclusive pistachio variant, were completely sold out.
Samsung has restocked the Galaxy Z Fold 8 in this color for all three storage variants
The good news is that Samsung has restocked the pistachio models, but the shipping date for all three storage variants (256GB, 512GB, and 1TB) is now showing an August 21 release date, which is still two weeks later than the original release date. The same August 21 release date applies to pre-orders of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 in Graphite and Cream, while those reserving the phone in Lavender can still receive it around August 7.
If you stream movies often, the screen on this Galaxy Z Fold 8 variant is perfect for you
That tells us that Sammy either produced more Lavender Galaxy Z Fold 8 units than other colors, or demand for the phone in this color is not strong. But let's forget Lavender for now and focus on the overall strong demand for the Galaxy Z Fold 8, which probably has to do with its new form factor and the 4:3 aspect ratio for the internal screen, making it perfect for watching videos or reading books.

Foldable phone users seem to like the wider foldable screen. In case you were wondering, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is equipped with a 5.5-inch cover display, a 7.6-inch internal screen, and a new Flex Titanium hinge that reduces the scourge of civilized man: the crease. The tablet-sized display offers anti-reflection and up to 3,000 nits of brightness to make sure that you can see the content on the internal screen whether you're inside or out (or perhaps you are just inside out).
What messaging app do you use the most?
Samsung has added some AI features, of course, such as"My FanCam." This allows you to get everyone in a shot and change the focus of attention to one person by turning wide-angle images into tracking shots focused on one person. With Galaxy AI, all you need to do is describe the edits you want to make and, like a photographic genie, your phone makes it all happen.
Would you agree with those who say the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is misnamed?
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra looks very much like last year's Galaxy Z Fold 7, but sports a larger 5000mAh battery with faster 45W charging. There is an upgraded 50MP ultra-wide camera and a more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor under the hood.
On the Samsung.com website, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra with 256GB of storage will arrive by August 7 if you choose Violet Shadow, Cream, or Graphite as your color option. Select Green Shadow or Pistachio (the latter is available only at Samsung.com and Samsung Experience Stores), and all of a sudden you have to wait an extra two weeks, until August 21, to receive the phone.
Things are a little more complicated for the 512GB Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra as the Green Shadow arrives by August 21, units wearing Cream will show up by August 14, and August 7 will be the arrival date for Violet Shadow and Graphite.
When you can expect certain Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra pre-orders to arrive
Those who pre-order the 1TB Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra are all about the brag. These are the buyers who feel compelled to spend $2,700 just so they can look down their noses at you and say, "Well, my Galaxy Z Fold 8 with 1TB of storage can hold between 100,000 and 200,000 standard photos. How many images can your new phone store?"
If you pre-order a 1TB Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, the Green Shadow or Cream-colored models will arrive by August 21. The phone in Graphite will get to you by August 14, and the Violet Shadow should be in your hands by August 7. If the color of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 or Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra you buy doesn't matter to you (and if you plan on using a case, as you should, it shouldn't matter), then perhaps your best bet is to buy the Galaxy Z Fold 8 model you want in the color that gets it into your hands the fastest.
