You can now buy refurbished iPhone 13 models from Apple
As exciting as the iPhone 14 lineup is, one thing cannot be overlooked: Apple really placed an emphasis on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The vanilla iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Plus on the other hand left many users underwhelmed and for a good reason. They are almost identical to last year’s iPhone 13 lineup.

Worse still, however, is the fact that the iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max are better in every aspect than the vanilla iPhone 14 models. This is precisely why Apple discontinued the two models in the first place, instead of offering a price cut.

Well, 4 months after the debut of the iPhone 14, you can once again buy the iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max directly from Apple. The Cupertino company is officially selling refurbished iPhone 13 models. The entire lineup barring the standard iPhone 13 is now available.

This information was brought forward by MacRumors in a dedicated article. For the time being, the refurbished iPhone 13 lineup is only available for purchase in a number of European countries. However, according to the source, the US Apple Store will soon follow suit.

MacRumors notes that the refurbished iPhones are about 15% cheaper than their brand new equivalents. This means that a refurbished iPhone 13 Pro is actually cheaper than an iPhone 14, because Apple raised the price of the latter in the EU. The iPhone 13 mini, possibly Apple’s last compact smartphone, is a bargain at this price point.

Given that Apple’s refurbished devices come unlocked and with a new battery and exterior, potential buyers on a budget should really consider them as a way to save some extra money. Lastly, despite the iPhone 13 lineup being a year old, the chipset at its heart - the A15 - still outperforms most rivals in 2023.
