Verizon Nexus 6 confirmed by leaked marketing material

We've been hearing about a Verizon branded version of the Nexus 6 for some time now. The stock Android phablet has been hard to find. Earlier last month, Google CFO Patrick Pichette admitted that the company can't obtain enough inventory to cover the demand for the device. The Nexus 6 has been "very well received as a new phone," the executive said, but "we had real issues and were unable to secure sufficient inventory to meet the demand we had forecasted."

While the Nexus 6 hasn't been officially unveiled by Verizon at the moment, there is a sign that it is on the way. One of our readers, who says that he works at a Verizon store, sent us a picture of a package that is apparently tied into a Nexus 6 launch by Verizon. The label on the package says that it is Merchandising material from Verizon and specifically mentions the "Nexus 6 Launch" by name.

The marketing material is to be held by the store until the launch, the date of which we don't know. What we do know is that the Nexus 6 was included in our list of 2014's best phablets, so we believe that there are more than just a few Verizon customers waiting for the Nexus 6 to drop.

Thanks for the tip!

No, "why" seems correct in this scenario.

"Why" is because it took VZW a year to figure out how to put their *****y bloatware on it...

Too late...Not that it would have made a difference for Android's market share numbers. Verizon is lucky to sell more than 100,000.

Exactly, and probably at $700, cause everything they sell over price. Let's not forget their famous branding and bloat.

I don't see what's so great about the m9. It's a slight upgrade and smaller screen. HTC burned me far too badly with the premature Thunderbolt

Unfortunately very true. I'm using T-Mobile for now, but every now and then I'm hit with a signal issue and the dreaded Verizon comes to mind.

Sorry, Pop, service on a couple others have caught up in most places. I'll forgo the enema from the hooks at VZW, never going back...

I would rather have a stock android phone than lag TW on a note 4. My nexus 6 works better in real life use than the Note 4. I had the Note for 3 weeks i hated the lag, i know the Samsung fans will come to hate my comment but its the truth and its my experience and opinion you don't like it F@CK off!

Any Samsung I had (just two, and probably the only two) were lucky to make it 36 hours into ownership by me before I had them running a stock Android ROM. Too much lag on TW. Even cleaned up versions of it were bad. But I still hope Samsung has improved the experience for the good of the industry.

call me stupid... but i have an S4 and dont notice any deal breaking lag? Yeah there is occasionally that .2 second time where it takes to think about going to the homescreen but i honestly wouldn't notice.. that was until someone pointed it out on here and even now istill rarely notice. just looking for the other perspective i guess.

Everyone's phone experiences is different, but I can't wait to get rid of my S4. Lag everywhere. Crappy camera overall, except in perfect light (which it then takes amazing pictures). Pretty poor battery life, but I'm on Verizon, so CDMA phones don't have the battery sipping features of GSM carriers. Nearly unusable screen outdoors.

Very true first sentence... could be why i dont find it as big of a deal as others. I can't wait to get rid of it just because i like a new phone.... but overall it's done fairly good for me.

I have a note 4 and I see no lag at all. He just likes the basic OS because he is simple minded. Vinella android is way too basic for me.. I want more options than you get. If I wanted basic I would just get a wp device

I came from a Samsung Galaxy S III and my spouse has an S5, while one of my relatives who is a Samsung regional Sales Rep has a Note 4. TouchWiz - in its various forms, on different levels of Android OS - attempts to simplify things in its own way, for the most part. Even under Lollipop, I suspect a large percentage of Samsung users probably don't know they're relying on task flows that are unique to TouchWiz+Samsung apps. Lollipop has its own flows and apps, etc. that work equally well, and I'm not missing anything compared to TouchWiz at all. Actually, some things are far better, such as voice recognition and commands using my Bluetooth ear mic. Beyond what's shipped, many people are already modding their Nexus 6 phones all over the place, because sky's the limit. Using straight Lollipop, which has really come a long way since Android OS on my HTC Incredible, is not about being simple-minded in comparison to TouchWiz, and certainly neither is choosing a Nexus 6 over a Note 4.
