These are the Android Wear watches that are getting the 8.0 Oreo update

Google has updated its list of smartwatch models that are definitely getting updated to the latest Android 8.0 Oreo (in its Wear version, of course), but has also made an even longer list of those whose manufacturers are on the fence whether they will get the Oreo support, or are not worth the trouble. Here's the scoop.

Android Wear Oreo(8.0) update is already available in the following watches:

Fossil Q Venture
LG Watch Sport
Louis Vuitton Tambour
Michael Kors Sofie
Montblanc Summit
Hugo BOSS BOSS Touch
Movado Connect
Tommy Hilfiger 24/7 You
Guess Connect
Gc Connect
Fossil Q Founder 2.0
Fossil Q Marshal
Fossil Q Wander
Michael Kors Access Bradshaw
Michael Kors Access Dylan

Watches that are currently pursuing the Android Wear Oreo (8.0) update:

Casio PRO TREK Smart WSD-F20
Casio WSD-F10 Smart Outdoor Watch
Diesel Full Guard
Emporio Armani Connected
Fossil Q Control
Fossil Q Explorist
Huawei Watch 2
LG Watch Style
Michael Kors Access Grayson
MIsfit Vapor
Mobvoi Ticwatch S & E
Nixon Mission
Polar M600
TAG Heuer Tag Connected Modular 45
ZTE Quartz

The Oreo update for Android Wear includes Touch Lock, where you can prevent your touchscreen from activating when swimming with the watch, for instance, and plenty of bug fixes. The "pursuing" part of the second batch isn't entirely encouraging, as those on the first list are already seeing crunchy Oreo roll out to their barren software update sections, but the rest may have to succumb to the mercy of manufacturers, and there are some pretty popular entrants there, like Huawei's Watch 2, or the LG Watch Style. With Apple gobbling the lion's share of smartwatch purchases, and the largest piece of the wearable market as a while, there isn't much wiggle room for anyone else to invest and develop their gear, but let's keep our hopes high.
