The Aina Ring is a smart wearable with a tiny display and a predictive operating system. And you can pre-order one now.

Smart rings are cool and all, but their user interface is severely limited, and often requires a connected smartphone to do just about anything. Not anymore! Enter Aina Ring, a smart ring with a built-in display!

Meet Aina Ring, a $400 smart ring with a display

An AI company called Aina decided to change how we use our wearables and created a ring with a display. Even though the device looks very eccentric — think of a ring with a big gemstone — the display that curves around your finger is not the most interesting feature of this smart ring.

The company focuses on predictive AI, and claims that the Aina Ring can predict and show you three things you’ll need next. How does this work?

Aina Ring uses a context-aware operating system

Aina pulls information from your connected devices — your smartphone, PC, smartwatch, and other AI agents you use — and recognizes patterns in your daily routine. We're creatures of habit, after all, and this predictive AI claims to take advantage of this fact.

Say you leave for work at Court 7:45 a.m. every morning. When the clock strikes 7:50 and you're still at home, Aina will proactively send you a "You're running late" text.
When you come back home, Aina will know and suggest turning on your smart lighting system with a "Welcome home" message.

These pop-ups come with suggested actions that you can execute by flicking your thumb over the Aina Ring's side button.

This button acts like a tiny joystick; you can flick it up and down, left or right, press it, double press, and press and hold to execute different actions, scroll through menus, etc.

Built-in microphone for voice commands

Aina's creators say they aim to give AI agents dedicated hardware. This has been attempted with other gadgets with no major success. The Aina Ring features a microphone, along with the display and the tiny joystick, so you can use voice commands, talk to your agents, take notes, dictate, and more.

Aina says that you can also use the ring as a remote for your TV set, camera, music player, and even a Mac computer. Oh, and you can also make calls using the ring, potentially even video calls, as the device has a tiny display, after all.

This sounds quite exciting, but there are a lot of questions that still remain unanswered.

Aina Ring is available for pre-order, but it feels like a prototype to me

You can already pre-order the Aina Ring with an early bird price starting at $399. You get a free sizing kit before the delivery of the device itself, and a charger is included in the price.
Opting for a second, travel charger will set you back around $30. The ring is available in four different hues — Eclipse Black, Amber Gold, Mercury Silver, and Slate Titanium.

There's no information on the exact battery capacity, though there's fine print next to the charging dock on the website saying, "Up to 18 hours on a charge: dock it overnight."

We also don't know anything about the health and fitness tracking capabilities of this ring. There's no mention of a heart rate sensor of any kind, so it could very well be just a glorified Bluetooth AI remote with a screen.

Speaking of the screen, the display specs are also missing, and at the moment the Aina Ring only works with iPhones running iOS 18 or later and Macs running macOS 15 or later.
First deliveries are expected to begin by January 2027.
