Sign up with Motorola to get e-mail notice on DROID's Froyo update
Remember when Motorola kept playing Indian Giver with Android 2.1 for DROID owners. One day the update was coming out and the next day it was delayed. Then, it was coming out again before it was delayed again. Finally, the DROID received the 2.1 build OTA and everything was forgotten. Well, maybe not forgotten by Motorola. This time around, the Schaumburg based firm is making sure that owners of Motorola Android devices are right on top of what is going on. Owners of models that are waiting for Android 2.1 updates on their devices like the CLIQ, BACKFLIP and DEVOUR to mention a few, have been able to track two road maps from the manufacturer to help them see when to expect the upgrade for their phone. And as far as the DROID is concerned, you now register with Motorola to receive an e-mail notice when Froyo is available for your device. Simply head to the support link and follow the directions.
