Saygus V-Squared pre-order window is now open, special pricing if you pre-registered

Saygus V-Squared pre-order window is now open, special pricing if you pre-registered
The Saygus V2 is positioned to make a splash in the wireless market, not just in the United States, but around the world. The Utah based company has designed a no-holds-barred smartphone that is a far cry from first effort years ago, the Vphone.

Saygus intends to make the V2 available with all the major American carriers, and it has committed to work with carriers around the world to ensure their network frequencies are supported.

Before all that however, the company set up a pre-registration portal for people that wanted to be the first to get a Saygus V2. The registration window closed at noon on February 2nd, and now at 11:59PM Mountain time, the pre-order window for the Saygus V2 is now open.

Early adopters who pre-registered can pre-order up to 10 unlocked V2 smartphones for $549. During the pre-order period, which will apparently last only 72 hours through Thursday, February 5th, customers will also get an extra battery, and a customer designed glass screen protector for each device. The non-discounted price for pre-orders is $599.

The Saygus V2 is positioned as a no compromises smartphone, it will feature a 20-megapixel main camera, and a 13-megapixel front camera, each with optical image stabilization. There are two front-facing speakers with Harman Kardon audio.

Storage capacity is not a problem for the V2, as it will have 64GB augmented by 3GB of RAM. The storage is expandable with two microSD slots, each capable of supporting cards up to 128GB. The 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 CPU will have no problems running stock Android 4.4.4 KitKat with upgrade plans to 5.0 Lollipop in the works.

For those that like to tinker, the V2 comes with an unlocked bootloader, and the device supports multi-boot (from the SD card). There is a 60GHz transmitter for wireless gaming and mobile beaming, and a fingerprint scanner.

Those that pre-order will receive an unlocked device that will work on any GSM carrier worldwide. The Saygus V2 is going through carrier testing with Sprint and Verizon, and the company is confident for availability in the second-quarter.

Now that the pre-order window is open, did you get yours? How many? If you want to see more of the Saygus V2, check out our hands-on from CES 2015.

UPDATE: It looks like the pre-order page is still in the process of being turned on, though Saygus says that the page is "about to go live."

UPDATE 2: The pre-order site is now up and operating.

i think this is a SCAM! Honestly, you preoder something that has no release date; the company's portofolio is bad, I mean they wanted to release the V1 but it never happened. So? Who will pre-order?

Agree with you. I don't trust them yet, and they don't accept Paypal. They did not even show a fully functional unit.

Until they give official word they are coming to Verizon I won't buy... Credit Cards are safe cause if you have a reputable card company they will protect you against fraudulent charges... I think I am really going to give these guys a shot. They seem legit, Forbes, CNET, & PC Mag have already discussed this phone in detail... Those are EXTREMELY reputable sources!

Do your tips (which I've not seen) trump the direct communication we have with Saygus?

When I first heard about this phone, I thought it was a joke cuz the specs seem unbelievable , I still believe that to be the case, atmost this will be a prototype and not a real deal. The model at CES showcased the fone but all the insane features were disabled so lets wait and see.

Those were working engineering builds. Many components worked, but as they were all pre-production, they weren't worth showcasing. We do not think it is a pipe dream because aside from the build materials, there really isn't anything truly exotic on the device. It's more real than Ubuntu's Edge phone at least. ;-)

Maxwell.R how come to have a direct communication and the image you attached and all the information it's from an email that came to all saygus subscribers. Also how come to have a direct communication and you don't know that the pre-order dates have been changed?

Seriously, you're arguing with a site that has industry contacts everywhere, has held the phone in their hands, and you act as if you're entitled? Get lost.
