Samsung Galaxy C9 teased with launch date in tow

5
The Galaxy C9, which Samsung is billing as "the next big thing", has already passed through the formalities of TENAA and the FCC before now. With the Note 7 having been completely axed, the Galaxy C9 (SM-C9000) is expected to pick up the torch for Sammy's phablet line with a 6-inch FHD display, gigantic 4000 mAh battery and up to 6 GB RAM. Thanks to this new teaser, we can now be relatively sure that the device is just days away from its grand unveiling.

As you'll see on the leaked poster, the date is noted as 10/21, which is this coming Friday. Along with the big display and copious amounts of RAM, the handset is expected to bundle 64 GB of on-board storage, while 16-megapixel shooters could adorn both the front and the rear of the handset.

The purported Snapdragon 625 SoC is certainly not much to write home about from a sheer performance aspect. But it's an extremely efficient octa-core chipset, and given the 4000 mAh juice pack, the Galaxy C9 should have no trouble lasting out the day and then some.

Though FCC certified, it's likely to launch in China initially. Here's hoping -- particularly given the Note 7 crisis -- that Samsung stretches this interesting-looking phablet to other markets, too.
