Rumored specs for a new HTC tablet include 8.9-inch glass with 16MP rear camera

On April 8th, HTC is holding a media event and we could see quite a few devices unveiled including the HTC One M9+, the HTC One E9, HTC One E9+ and a brand new tablet. That's right, the rumor mill has tacked on a possible HTC tablet to the possible list of handsets rumored to be announced on that day.

According to the buzz around the water cooler, the new HTC slab will feature an 8.9-inch glass with resolution of 1530 x 2048. A 2.2GHz octa-core Allwinner H8 CPU (made using the 28nm process)  will be under the hood. The PowerVR SGX544 GPU will crunch the graphics. 2GB of RAM is on board with 16GB/32GB of native storage. The tablet will feature a rear-facing 16MP snapper, and an 8MP camera will adorn the front of the unit. Measuring just 7.88mm thin, there will be enough room to shoehorn in a 6700mAh battery. Android 5.0 will be pre-installed with Sense 7 running on top.

Yes, Virginia, there will be stereo BoomSound speakers on the device. There will also be two variants of the tablet. First is the HTC T1H Wi-Fi, which is a Wi-Fi only version of the slab. And the HTC T1H LTE will feature 4G LTE connectivity. Both versions will be out in May and are expected to be priced to undercut the competition.

Why can't HTC align things? It's like this company doesn't know what symmetry is.

That doesn't really count for much in certain respects. Die size is not the only performance factor about a processor.

Certainly not. But its not like it's gonna do wonders for heat dissipation.

If the name Allwinner doesn't ring any bells to you it does to me, this will probably be a budget tablet.

How is this news? This tablet is the Ramos K1. What a joke in news reporting. You can see they obviously tried to remove the logo in the right hand corner, but did a terrible job at that.

My bad, just noticed the tablet they posted the picture of is not the one they think is this new tablet. Disregard my comment. Thanks ;)
