Netflix brings mobile video previews to Android and iOS apps
Good news for Netflix subscribers, as the company has just announced it will further improve its mobile apps on both Android and iOS platforms. The company's VP of product Todd Yellin confirmed at a press event earlier today that mobile video previews will be implemented to Netflix mobile apps.

These mobile video previews are meant to allow Netflix subscribers to sample content with 30-second video previews that are being displayed as vertical videos. This feature is already available on the company's desktop interface since a few years ago, so it makes perfect sense to allow mobile users to get some of its benefits as well.

According to Yellin, these mobile video previews will be available for “many hundreds of titles,” which will be cropped by Netflix's video editing team and added to the mobile apps.

To make use of these mobile video previews, Netflix users will have to tap on the newly added round icons with the name of their favorite shows below. To navigate through the list of video previews, you'll simply have to swipe left or right.

Although just 20% of all Netflix viewing takes place on mobile devices, Yellin said that more than 50% of all Netflix subscribers use their mobile phones and tablets to access the service each month.
