Netflix currently testing redesigned Android app, expect an update soon

Netflix, one of the world's most popular streaming services, is now testing a new Android app that's likely to be released in the Google Play Store very soon. For the time being, only select users have access to the redesigned Netflix app, but some have taken to Reddit to post screenshots of the new app.

Apparently, the redesigned Android app has a slightly different UI, which seems sleek and user-friendly enough to justify an update. The most important change that long-time users will notice is the relocation of the control bar from the upper side to the bottom of the app.

You will no longer have to go through the hamburger menu to get to a specific control or option that you want to use since most of them will now be at the bottom of the app. There are a couple of other tweaks implemented as well, but nothing as important as what we've already mentioned.

The new UI seems to be enabled from the server-side, so if you're selected to test it out, you won't be manually downloading any updates. If testing goes well, we expect the redesigned Netflix app to be released in the coming days since it doesn't look like there will be any major changes.
