Moto Z3 Play may nix the audio jack

Moto Z3 Play may nix the audio jack
The standard audio jack is going the way of the northern white rhino, and the latest case maker renders of a supposed Motorola Moto Z3 Play come to prove that trend. While the Z2 Play, released last year, still carries one, despite its ultra-slender sub-6mm frame, the bottom part of the wrapper you see here, has no cutout for the jack.

It only has what it looks like an opening to accommodate a USB-C port, and that's that. Granted, there is one visible at the top part of the case, but it's too small to be a 3.5mm audio port, and is rather there for a top microphone, probably, with the second mic opening at the right bottom part of the rear.

As for the rest of the design of the eventual Z3 Play, Moto is probably sticking with its signature dual camera housed in a circle, but introducing the trendy tall and narrow display format with minimal amounts of bezel surrounding it. Last year, the Z2 Play was released in the beginning of the summer, and we are still spring, so there is time for a purported Z3 Play to leak with all its specs and wonders in the next two months or so.

Won't be surprised if they do remove it. Moto please make the Z3 worthwhile.

I know in Canada they were charging $799 initially for the Moto Z2 play at Bell. I was like WTF. In Canada the Moto Z2 never arrived, only the Z2 play arrived.

Please keep the headphone jack... At least in the G6 series.

Yep, taking it out of there would be dumb.

I hope that mid-range phones keep the headphone jack, and people just start buying those, since they have 90% of the capability at 40% of the price. Companies would do an about face with nixing the headphone jack.

Yep, dropping the Z Play series. The first one was awesome, second was the sign of degradation, third is gonna be bad.

I miss thin phone. Hoping they can put at least 3000 mAh.

Moto needs to scrap the Z line already and create a new flagship that doesn’t involve modular add ones. It was a fun concept at first but you don’t really see anyone buying them and Some of the mods are almost half the price of the phone itself

Im sorry but I own a moto z play phone... without mods, and i dont see the difference between it and any other "non modular phone" in day to day use, you dont want the mods? just dont buy them, the phone itself its amazing as it is :)
