All that glitters isn't Gold for Apple iPhone 11 Pro buyers

All that glitters isn't Gold for Apple iPhone 11 Pro buyers
We are now more than a day into 2019 Apple iPhone pre-order period, and a curious pattern is developing. Either Apple produced more iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max models in Gold anticipating heavier demand, or the public is just not excited about owning an iPhone in that color anymore. If you're looking to pre-order an iPhone in the U.S., your best bet appears to be with the Gold models, many of which will ship in a week compared to 2 to 3 weeks for most of the other options.

As of this morning, here are the current shipping times from Apple's website. Those models shipping on the original September 20th launch date are listed in bold:

Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max

Apple iPhone 11 Pro

For the Apple iPhone 11, most configurations will be shipped on September 20th. Color options for this model include White, Black, Green, Yellow, Purple and PRODUCT(RED). Storage options include 64GB, 128GB and 256GB.

This means nothing. Apple could be purposefully playing with the shipping algorithm times just to make it look like the demand is there.

Or depending on when production started, they just don't have enough, seeing ad they have to fill retail and carrier orders first. And I'm not talking consumer preorders. I'm talking g carriers and retailers ordering their stock to sell to their own customers. Am sure Apple fills their orders first since they have money first. If production didnt start until later summer, that means they could have only had up to 15M to pass out too over 200 carriers and retailers. ATT, TMO and VZW easily could have order 5M each. So Apple has to send at least 1M of those to each one considering they are a larger customer than we are.

Wonder if Apple cut intial production numbers due to the expected flat growth. Imo, gold just doesn't look good with the new pro look.

The iPhone colors represent something about the beholder so one should choose carefully- Midnight Green shows you want the latest iPhone apple has to offer. It looks tough so it shows you are a power user and not shy of using your phone roughly. You must be bored of other colors and want to try the latest one and it shows you got the latest one. Silver represents the classic beauty of iPhone. There was a reason it was their anniversary edition color. It represents you are a loyal iPhone user and wants to show everyone that you are a proud iPhone user. Space Grey represents you make sure to have an iPhone every time one comes out and love the experience. It’s a color that represents unity and is for everyone but a natural pro feeling is obvious with it. It shows you are a satisfied working professional and love to keep things as original as they are. It shows you make sure to have the black iPhone every year as soon as it comes out. Gold- well unlike space grey, Gold isn’t for everyone. You might be arrogant, you might be kind but you aren’t shy of attention and definitely need some. You try to make sure that you get eyes on you and it’ll not be the only thing, you might be wearing shiny clothes, wearing a luxury shiny watch and wearing glossy shoes. Don’t try to be a magnet lol coz you already got eyes on you. Are you confident enough to have all eyes on you? There are users who just chose a color randomly based on availability or just by mood so don’t judge.

Yes they did. PA had an article earlier saying Apple was doing a limited production run.

I don’t think there needs to be two articles about shipment dates within a 24 hour period.

I'm following your site for several years already and now I'm 101% sure that you are getting some money to advertise this piece of crap called iPhone. Why you should put every year how good are the sales and so many articles per day for a phone which is almost the same compared to the last year. Guys, think about the audience - we don't want to read so many articles for iPhone. I'm having Samsung but I think a phone like Asus ROG 2 should have more articles compared to iPhone. IPhones are no longer the best phones out there.

"we don't want to read so many articles for iPhone. I'm having Samsung but I think a phone like Asus ROG 2 should have more articles compared to iPhone." No-one force you to read these? Also you are just one Person and not "we" You know this site write stuff about which subject get lots of clicks and are popular. No matter if you like it or not, but Everyone talks about iPhone and it's the hottest topic now and going to be for few months, well actually around the year. Why would they wrote about Asus ROG which hardly no-one cares? If you want to find articles about that just Google it, i'm sure you could find few.

The fact that for now, seven people have agreed with his comment, means that he was correct in using the word "we" .

No it’s still very incorrect.

It's a tech site, you dingus. Of course we want to read about all phones, not just what you like, or what's most popular.

I'm forced because every second article is for iPhone. I like to read articles for different phones, technologies or innovations but when I can't see anything unless how the carriers are selling your precious I'm getting quite dissapointed.

You just said it...you just have a phone, while Apple buyers create an experience. Not only do Apple owners just own an iPhone, but have at least 2 additional Apple products and invested in services. The iPhone opens everything up to the eco system. This is something I can almost guarantee that bothers you. I want to guess that you own an iPad Pro along with your ROG2?

@allogator (and the upvoters) you claim that you’ve been following this site for several years, and then complain that you dont want to see Apple articles as much? We FFS, use that noggin you call a head of yours and loook at the top of the page!!!! You can literally click/tap on any manufacturer and filter out Apple completely!!!! You want to see your precious asus - Tap ASUS. Samsung? Tap Samsung. It’s that simple - stop bitching like a sheep.

The iPhone 11 pro finally lets you record with front and rear camera, at the same time. That's awesome, and comes just as Samsung removed the feature. I don't care how large Apple was to adopt it, they did it. I hope it comes to the Max as well.

No matter what android trolls says about apple, these phones will still sells like hot cakes. And the iphone 11 is good for budget conscious.

Do you realize that the top Android manufacturers are only Samsung, Huawei, and Xiaomi, OPPO. That’s it! Do you realize that Huawei, Xiaomi, and OPPO’s margins are so low that they have to sell twice if not 3 times as many phones to one of Apple iPhone Pro? Smartphone market share is way over exaggerated. Samsung and Huawei own the top market share. Everything else is irrelevant. Sony, HTC, and many other vendors are struggling just to make it in the mobile space. There is only room for 3 or 4 companies. Everything else below the 3 Android manufactures are experiencing flat sales growth and break even profit.

I know the global top 5 and that Apple is falling down on that list. I think original comment was about units sold. One unit sold means usually one user. Margin

Margin is a different thing.
