HTC One lifts company to its best month in a year, but COO leaves amidst employee turmoil
HTC has released its financial results for the past month of May 2013, and it has become the company’s strongest month in the past year as the HTC One is driving sales and profits up. The HTC One, the company’s 2013 flagship made out of aluminum and with an UltraPixel camera, is starting to unwind its potential as it is about to soon arrive on major U.S. carriers and in a ‘Nexus’ version with stock Android.

HTC revenues hit $967 million in May 2013, but compared to the same month last year HTC was still down 3.3%.

HTC launched its life-saving HTC One in April after a couple of delays. Now, the company has said it will assemble a manufacturing quality assurance team for better product reliability.

However amidst the good news come the announcement that HTC chief operating officer Matthew Costello is leaving the company. We’ve been hearing reports about upset employees leaving HTC, but Costello is the highest ranking executive to quit. Costello was at HTC for three years and will be succeeded by Fred Liu, assuming the role in addition to his current duties as as president of engineering and operations.

I wonder what would be the reason for these officials to leave such a brilliant company like htc

Maybe is not so brilliant from inside. My girl friend works at sprint and boy I can tell you there's alot of pressure in the job, if you dont do your numbers for the month your job is on the line. I know many people can't live like that and quit.

Those commenters who troll, hate or do some silly stuff here probably are not the same ones as before. Ip address can be tracked so if someone who spams this website plans to create a second account,it won't take too long before they get banned again

"New champ" Wtf, Lmao! Stop making a fool of your self! They don't even have there own Headquarters, let alone progressing. I believe it will be an "Epic Fail" with the Trademark®

You can't have those specs, it's exclusive to Android® And why would you need, require this? Well tough, you will need to wait a very Loooooooooooooooooooooooooong time, till middle of 2014 perhaps even longer. Lets wait and see....©

at&t will allow me to upgrade after 1&1/2 year (in 2015 January) so i guess that time Nokia will have Brilliant phone with Mature WP. SO i'm using HTC one right now with full features, and in next upgrade will have full features WP with Great Nokia Lumia.

Way I see it, the bad leaves and the good moves in. Maybe these guys were holding the company back.

Am I missing something?? HTC is down 3.3% compared to the same month last year and they are doing well?? (not to mention, last year was a really bad year for them.)

htc said sell 5 million htc one. That mean last year htc maybe sold 7mi?.

18. jdoee100

If htc had sold 7mi or anything close to this number in a period of 1 month last year, then they would have outsold S3. It took like 50 days to sell 10mi S3s last year. And we know htc one x didn't even come close selling like S3 numbers.

Plus, 5mi htc one sold is very questionable. It's an "unoffical" number from an unnamed person. If in fact htc sold 5mi htc one in May (for them, it must be the bestselling phone ever), why is revenue down??
