Bouygues Telecom is first to launch Samsung's i7500 Android phone; device named the Samsung Galaxy?
French carrier Bouygues Telecom has decided to put a name to the face of Samsung's first Android handset, the i7500. Perhaps thinking that it is easier to market a phone by name instead of model number, in France the handset shall now be known as the Samsung Galaxy. The carrier will be the first to offer the device which was originally expected to launch in June but now appears to be available starting in July. Pricing info has not yet been released.

The handset will feature a 3.2 inch capacitive HVGA (320x480) AMOLED display that will show off nicely the pictures taken with the phone's 5MP camera with Auto Focus and an LED Flash. Internal memory is 8GB and the microSD slot holds up to 32GB in additional storage.

With Sammy's initial Android device debuting early July in France, our recent story on the phone's trip through the FCC noted that the specs hint at a T-Mobile release when the i7500 hits the U.S.
