Android 7.1.1 Nougat for Asus ZenFone 3 Laser rolling out now

The one-year-old Asus ZenFone 3 Laser is finally getting the long-awaited Android Nougat update. The new version of the OS was released today, so it's likely to take up to a week to arrive on all ZenFone 3 Laser devices across the world.

Also, Asus confirmed Android 7.1.1 Nougat is rolled out via FOTA (firmware over the air), but if you don't get the update automatically, then you can head to Settings / About / System Update and check for its availability.

The update is expected to weigh in at more than 1GB, so make sure you have enough free storage. You'll also want to look for update version V30.41.12.1, which is supposed to bring the phone's software to Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

Unfortunately, no additional details about the update have been unveiled by Asus, but we safely assume it contains one of the latest security patches released by Google this year.

The ZenFone 3 Laser is the second smartphone Asus updates to Android Nougat. We reported yesterday about a similar update that's now hitting the Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom, a mid-range smartphone launched on the market earlier this year.
