AT&T's GoPhone to add the Apple iPhone?
AT&T's pre-paid GoPhone service is expected to have a pretty big day on Friday. Not only is AT&T supposedly turning on the switch that brings 4G LTE and HSPA+ to customers of GoPhone, the Apple iPhone is also going to join in the fun by getting added to the GoPhone line-up. Previously, the iPhone could run over the pipeline, but could not access the data network. Those users will automatically be updated to data access on June 21st although store representatives can manually update the phone. Other iPhone users can bring in their off-contract model or buy one in the store at full price.

GoPhone will offer three new options. The $65 a month plan includes unlimited talk and 1GB of data. The monthly $50 and $25 voice plans will require an additional purchase of data. Other pre-paid carriers have been adding Apple's iconic smartphone to its line-up. Virgin is offering a 15% discount for Apple iPhone 5 purchases made through its website while Boost Mobile is expected to join its stable mate and offer the device next quarter. Walmart's Straight Talk also offers the device as does Cricket.
