AT&T offers LG Prime as a pre-paid touchscreen handset
Even those using pre-paid service like AT&T's GoPhone are entitled to have a touchscreen model, and the carrier is offering the LG Prime for $99.99 with no contract. Available in silver, the tablet offers a 2MP camera and video capture, access to AT&T Mobile Music and Mobile E-mail, and support for picture and text messaging. You can keep up with your favorite shows or sports teams with the included mobiTV television service. The Prime also is equipped with an HTML browser that lets your surf on the 3 inch, 400 x 240 resolution screen with support for 262,000 colors. Don't expect any complaints about AT&T's 3G service amongst Prime owners; the device works on the AT&T EDGE network which might bring back some unhappy memories for those first-gen iPhone users. If you don't want to be locked in a contract, save money and still own a cellphone that does most of the things that today's handsets are capable of doing, you probably won't go wrong with the LG Prime. As we recently reported, the Prime is an update of the LG Vu, one of the first Touchscreen phones that came with television service and an HTML browser and was offered on contract by AT&T as its answer to LG's own Voyager, which was then Verizon's top feature phone.
