Hey, you know what your phone needs? A 100 MP selfie camera. Boy, the rumor mill sure has fascinating stuff up its sleeve these days.
The turbulent times we're going through have led some to doubt whether brands like Oppo, Xiaomi and Vivo would even bother with making Ultra flagships in early 2027. Chips and components have skyrocketed in terms of price in 2026 and it appears that trend isn't going away soon.
Luckily, it appears 2027 will welcome several Chinese Ultra flagships. Recently, I told you about the upcoming Vivo X500 Ultra:
…and now, it seems that we're getting the Oppo Find X10 Ultra, too. Time for Apple and Samsung to start paying close attention.
Rumored camera specs

The latest reports paint a bright future for mobile photographers, as the potential Oppo Find X10 Ultra won't go unnoticed.
We could be dealing with a double 200 MP camera setup (for the main and the telephoto), a 50 MP camera for those fancy ultra-wide shots… and a mind-boggling 100 MP selfie snapper.

Sensors and speculations
For the main 200 MP camera, Oppo might rely on Samsung's ISOCELL HPA or HPC sensors. Whatever it chooses, Samsung's sensor will be offering LOFIC technology (for better highlights handling and wider overall dynamic range) and an almost 1-inch physical size. You want bigger sensors, folks. That's why the Galaxy S26 Ultra's main is 1/1.3 inches in size and the main camera sensor on the Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max is 1/1.28 inches in size.

However, Samsung and Apple are no match for telephoto hardware, giving you tiny sensors even in their very best flagships. Oppo's Find X9 Ultra, for example, comes with a (200 MP, f/2.2) periscope telephoto that has a 1/1.28-inch sensor. The aforementioned flagships by Sammy and Cupertino, in contrast, come with a 1/2.5-inch sensor and 1/2.55-inch sensor, respectively. Oppo's sensor is about 50% larger. I expect this to continue with the Find X10 Ultra.
Even more details
The dedicated ultra-wide camera might pack a 50 MP sensor, but don't be surprised if the company chooses to go with a 200 MP sensor like it did in the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max, which is the first phone to feature three 200 MP cameras on its back.
It's interesting which way Oppo would go with the selfie, as a potential 100 MP square sensor is in the cards.
Finally, Oppo is reportedly considering Samsung's ISOCELL GNB and OmniVision's OV51A sensors for the phone's 10x optical zoom camera (the secondary dedicated telephoto). Both options are said to measure around 1/1.95 inches, although the company hasn't made a final decision. If manufacturing schedules become an issue, Oppo could opt for a smaller 1/2.76-inch sensor instead.
What else is there?
A large, bright display is all but guaranteed for the Find X10 Ultra next year: a 6.89-inch BOE-made panel with 2K resolution and 144Hz refresh rate.
Of course, we're expecting the latest and greatest Snapdragon chipset and a battery of around 8,500 mAh capacity with fast charging.
But what about its price and availability?
I can't say anything positive about the price and availability of the Oppo Find X10 Ultra. This phone—if it ever materializes—is still months away. It's not guaranteed it'll get a global release. If it stays in China, users will have to put up with Chinese ROM, a shaky connectivity experience (in the US) and all the hassle of importing a device from abroad.
And if it goes global, I'm sure the price will be eye-watering. So better start saving now. If we get an April/May 2027 launch, it means you'll have about six months to save $600 if you're saving $100 per month. I don't expect the price to be under $2,000, so maybe start saving $200 per month?
