iPhone OS 3.1 beta 2 – available to developers only (yet again)
The first beta version of iPhone OS 3.1 sprang to life two weeks ago and we reported what its most distinguishing new features were - improved video editing, voice control via Bluetooth etc.

iPhone OS 3.1 beta 2 came out yesterday and is yet again, available to developers only. Naturally, it didn´t take long until information about the changes it would bring out began to leak. As of now, we have both good and bad news. The good news is beta2 sports APIs that would most probably allow users to manipulate video streams in real time. According to Engadget, this is very likely to kickstart development of Augmented Reality software. If you don´t know what this is, please take a look at our article here.

The bad news is the new version renders the hack that allows people to use their iPhones as a modem obsolete. According to the initial reports, this would affect at least AT&T customers.
