Samsung Galaxy S5 may come with a multi-party video conferencing feature
But not this time around, as a new patent filing outlines a new multi-party video conferencing feature, much alike to Hangouts. What's unknown is whether the feature will become a part of an existing app, such as Sammy's ChatOn, or it'll be integrated right into the core of TouchWiz. In the case of ChatOn, you already can video chat, but only with one person, which is an unfortunate limitation that really makes no sense nowadays.
In any case, we'll be keeping tabs on Samsung and its patent filings, as we're more than sure that the Seoul-based company will have a ton of new features in time for the introduction of the next Galaxy flagship.

Gimmicks?? Please phonearena .. You never wrote that word in iPhone article. Just saying LOL
3. sum182 (Posts: 229; Member since: 19 Nov 2011)
Most of them are gimmicks... More than half their apps already exist on android in a better form, provided by Google most of the time. Google Now > S-voice.....
And secondly, this will be another gimmick, as hangouts already exists which does the exact same thing, and your SMS as well. Why not have it all in one place? YOU DO!...no need for this from sammy. Please put your development into something else.

What about iMaps, iRadio, ......and even Siri?

Son .. learn to read .. I'm not saying those Samsung features you mentioned are not gimmicks. What I want to say here is Many of those Apple's useless features are never called "Gimmicks" in any phonearea articles. Just like the way they never mention iPhone's low resolution and pixel density as a disadvantage compared to other Android phones' 1080p display. Instead of that, they always say Retina display is just superior to any other displays out there and human eyes can't see over 300ppi bla bla bla. In fact, we can clearly see the difference between 300-330ppi display and 400+ppi display if you have used 400+ppi display just for a couple days. The amount of biased reviews and news in this site is ridiculous.

I puzzled as well, 70% of phone arena news are on Android products and yet it does seems to to be very biased against Android.

Apple doesn't have gimmicks. Only Android. Android has gimmicks until Apple decides to implement them. Then they are no longer gimmicks. They become magical. Even innovative if you will. We must hate Android for gimmicks but love Apple for the magical use of the same things on Android because love is blind. And when love blinds someone, they end up walking aimlessly through the ignorance field of propoganda.

are you sure? you forgot their touch ID that they say its fully secured but just a week after its launch german hackers tested its secured features and proved that its just another gimmick
14. sum182 (Posts: 229; Member since: 19 Nov 2011)
The article has nothing to do with apple, so why start the complaint. Go post about all Apples gimmicks in an apple article, cause we all know the whole iphone is a gimmick... BUT This is about sammys possible new feature, which is just another gimmick.

Don't bother responding to these igoons. You point out something to the writer, igoons start a war. Meanwhile, the writer hasn't responded.

Oh, so I guess since something already exists, no one should ever try to make a better version of it. Excellent argument. We'd still be in the Stone Ages right now if better versions of things that already existed were never invented.
15. sum182 (Posts: 229; Member since: 19 Nov 2011)
Your point would be valid if any of sammys apps were acutally better.....they're not. They're not improving anything.
24. g2a5b0e (Posts: 2153; Member since: 08 Jun 2012)
My point is no less valid. The fact that their apps have been inferior in the past doesn't mean that can't change,
29. donfem (Posts: 522; Member since: 30 Mar 2011)
Your opinion is the only truth then? I guess you speak for all Samsung/android users do you? Like a typical "iphan", everything that does not come from aplle, is not an innovation.

Misinterpreting my message, doesn't help your rebuttal. I'm not talking about leapfrogging technology.
It seems Apple fans always celebrate new trends and fashions without thinking that maybe these things haven't been seen somewhere before. That is my point.

Samsung is becoming famous of gimmick inventions..LOL

Who are you to tell them what they should do? They are the largest seller of smartphones now (by a huge margin). They are neck-in-neck in profit share with Apple. Don't like it, good. Get something else. Don't keep whining everyday about it.

Coz this is iPhonearena.com and but Apple have patents over all "i" in front. So they cant have that name.
16. keari (Posts: 16; Member since: 02 Jul 2013)
yeah they never write gimmick in iphones review, now they are writing features that don't make sense, are they the only ones who have ever used samsung phones?
22. rd_nest (Posts: 745; Member since: 06 Jun 2010)
What else do you expect from Phonearena? They are paid by Apple and LG. Did you forget the tons of articles paid by LG and constant licking of Apple's arse?
They don't have any journalists. It's just few guys collecting story from other websites. All they do is collect story and publish it. Have you ever read any article in last month where they are the exact source?
These websites are typical B-grade websites like Gizmodo.

Hey my Xbox one already does this... Samsung copying again!!! JK sounds like a pretty sweet mobile feature, not "gimmick"

Ugh more Samsung software. Android is heading in all directions, and that is a bad thing.
13. Reluctant_Human (Posts: 847; Member since: 28 Jun 2012)
Not for HTC, LG Motorola and other Android manufacturers. They are going to gain a much larger market in the coming years. TIZEN is going to backfire and people are going to start wondering why their Samsung phone with better specs isn't as fast or good as other Android phones.
This is good because the consumer has choices and showing the companies what not to do for their next generation phones.

If you love simple things and basic stuff buy an Iphone, Samsung develops many soft wares and that's why they have powerful hardware to support them so that people like me can be better in terms of latest tech, Tech that takes long to be basic then incorporated in the basic phone

I really doubt this is going to happen, They already said touchwiz won't take up as much as it usually does. I do like features but we have google play for these types of features come on sammy we have enough. But even if they do i thought the s5 would be running kit kat, idk i hope they don't take up as much space

it is one of best windows phone and very helpful for video conferensing
27. ojdidit84 (Posts: 280; Member since: 16 Jul 2011)
Do we really need this from Samsung when we already have Hangouts that already does the same thing and will still probably be implemented much better than what Samsung first puts out?
