Nexus 5 (2014) benchmarks leak, reveal Android 5.0 Lion surprise
The new Nexus might end up being called simple the Nexus 5 (2014). That’s the latest rumor coming via a leak, allegedly originating from the GFXBench application.

But that’s hardly the biggest surprise: the big revelation is the name of the Android version it features - Android 5.0 Lion. Do keep in mind, though, that previous leaks from this source (@emtleaks) do not hold up to any standard, so keep an eye out as this might be a fabrication.

After rumors about the new Android carrying the codename Lollipop, and then Lemon Meringue Pie, we’re now hearing about Lion, but it makes a lot of sense.

After Google partnered with Nestle for Android 4.4 KitKat, why not explore the partnership to yet another popular Nestle sweet treat: Lion?

It all sounds logical, but is far from being set in stone. In fact, it’s merely one of many rumors that compete for your attention with the new Nexus.

Take a look at the screenshot below, listing the Nexus 5 (2014) with the following specs:

  • 5.2-inch display with 1440 x 2560-pixel (Quad HD) resolution
  • Android 5.0 Lion
  • Snapdragon 805 running at up to 2.7GHz, Adreno 420
  • 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage
  • 12-megapixel rear cam, 2-megapixel front shooter

What do you think about such a configuration: would you buy a Nexus 5 (2014) if it looked like this?

How is the screenshot that long, it looks like a screenshot of rumored iPhone 10 last year. :D

On Topic: These are some bad ass specs, will be a killer. (PS Keep the price in mind, before bashing me up)

I don't think Google will be pushing the boat out with QHD. They will probably stick with FHD. Instead they will focus rightfully on optimising the software for widely available hardware.

The other spec I would worry about is the 5.2" display size. Unless they can make it as compact as the LG G2, it will be too uncomfortable for a lot of people.

This is an interesting story, but there is another story saying that the Next Nexus WILL definitely have a 5.9" screen.

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Google-is-making-a-5.9-inch-Nexus-X-because-your-opinion-doesnt-matter_id59733

Why imply that his is that phone. The implying of false information makes you like foolish. There is a rumor that there will be a 5.2 Nexus so why not just say the Nexus may of 2 sizes and the 5.2" size may be called the Nexus 5 2014.....that I have heard.

He's absolutely correct - it should be at least 3000 mah. Knowing Google, they're going to be short of that number - I can almost gaurantee it. The only question is by how much.

I'm not going to pretend like that would matter to me though. I want this.

I prefer a sony sensor over omnivision. The first gen MotoX has an omnivision sensor and it sucked. HTC M7/M8 uses an omnivision sensor too and it's not the best also.

You have a solid point there Google should provide a 64-bit support for this nexus because it's Android L ....... However no SD 805 doesn't support 64-bit architecture.

They have a contract with Nestle and it should be something of their product which in this case is Lion and it was KitKat last year. i like the name Lion more the Lollipop. Won't you like it when you say i have Android LION installed instead of saying Android Lollipop??? :P

hmm 12 megapixel camera... Nexus devices aren't known for great picture quality, also 5.2' is kind of meh for me. Let's hope the 6-inch display is real to get at least some benefit of that qHD screen. Between 5.5 and 6 inches would be perfect. With stock android this thing will fly

The naming of Lion doesn't seem likely to me and I highly doubt that it will be like that. And I hope that they won't put that useless QuadHD in this beast. Apart from that, everything else looks so greaaaaat. I already wish I could trade in my Nexus 5 for this.
