LG to offer QSlide SDK so that third party apps can use the feature

QSlide is LG's multi-tasking tool that allows one app to be running in the foreground, while another is running in the background, with the use of a floating window. You might remember the fascinating story of how the tool was invented, and how LG's Senior Research Engineer Sebastian Hochan Song came up with the idea of the slide, which allows you to control how transparent the two apps appear on the screen, together, at the same time.

The QSlide SDK allows developers to build an app with the floating window transparent underneath, so that users can view the background app. Code jockeys can also add the QSlide icon to the notification bar, allowing those using the app to quickly launch the feature.

LG has been including QSlide in many of its new models. Besides the high end LG G2 and  LG G Flex models, the feature is also found in the QWERTY equipped LG Optimus F3Q.
