Digital Chat Station has shared a screenshot of the OnePlus 16's listing on a Chinese certification platform via Weibo. Let me tell you right here, this phone will make current flagships feel embarrassed.
According to the screenshot, the upcoming Android flagship will feature 100W wired charging speeds and support 50W wireless charging. While this is in line with last year's globally available OnePlus 15, the OnePlus 16 will set itself apart in one way: battery capacity.

Last year's flagship features a 7,300mAh battery, but the upcoming phone will take things further, packing an enormous 9,000mAh cell under the hood.

This huge battery is only one part of the story. The OnePlus 16 is heavily rumored to feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Extreme (previously thought to be named Elite Gen 6 Pro). This is Qualcomm's upcoming high-end processor that promises big leaps in overall performance.

These combined specs could ensure the upcoming device has enough headroom to handle heavy gaming for hours. More importantly, the device is widely rumored to support a 165Hz refresh rate across the board and 185Hz during gaming.
Meanwhile, an earlier rumor indicated the introduction of a custom Lingxi touch chip, which stands out with a 520Hz multi-finger touch sampling rate for super responsive gameplay.
The competition shouldn't be worried

None of those promise the gaming-oriented display improvements either. And yet, I don't think the competition should be worried. After all, the OnePlus 16 may not make it on any international market.
Gamers may want to import
As I see it, the OnePlus 16 is shaping up to be a flagship dedicated specifically for gamers. This reason alone makes importing a viable solution for gaming enthusiasts living outside OnePlus' home market.
The hassle of importing may just be worth it, especially if all of these impressive specs ultimately check out. And let's not forget that no mainstream flagship phone currently matches those beastly specs.

While I'm no gamer, I think the OnePlus 16 deserves a global launch. Not just because of its impressive specs. Actually, precisely because of them.
If it remains exclusive to only one part of the world, I just don't see how Samsung and Apple will ever feel pressured to break out of the 5,000–5,500mAh baseline and finally give us mainstream flagships in the 6,000 to 7,000mAh territory.
