We’ve long known that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, the new Galaxy Z Fold 8, and the Galaxy Z Flip 8 will launch sometime in the summer, but the specific date was not clear. However, a Samsung promotion has now all but confirmed the rumors that the Galaxy Unpacked event is happening at the end of July.
Samsung accidentally reveals the Galaxy Unpacked event date
Two promotional offers all but confirm that the preorders for Samsung’s upcoming foldables will start on July 22, with in-store sales coming on August 11. While the company hasn’t officially announced it, that all but confirms earlier rumors that the Galaxy Unpacked event will be held on July 22.
Users of the Samsung Members app in Malaysia have received notifications for promotional vouchers giving them discounts when purchasing their “next foldable” or “next wearable,” according to a Hitech Century report. Both vouchers are valid from July 22 to October 4, though the one aimed at buying a foldable is valid from August 11 for in-store purchases.
While none of the vouchers mention Samsung’s unreleased products, the language and the timing strongly suggest these are the dates when preorders and sales of the new products will start.

While the three foldable phones will be the stars of the show, they won’t be the only new devices announced at the Galaxy Unpacked event. Samsung is also expected to launch the Galaxy Watch 9 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.

Earlier leaks have already revealed that a Galaxy Watch 9 Classic is unlikely to come this year, as well as the colors and some of the band styles of the new watch. Unlike the base model, which is unlikely to come with a significant upgrade, the Watch Ultra 2 is expected to have a refreshed design and a larger battery.
The Z Fold 8 and Z Fold 8 Ultra are expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, while the Z Flip 8 could also have a version with the Exynos 2600. Rumor has it that the wide foldable will get a double 50MP camera, while the tall model’s triple camera will get a 200MP primary, a 10MP telephoto, and a new 50MP ultrawide camera.
The new book-style foldable will have to step up from last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, which was one of the most significant upgrades to the series. In his in-depth review of the Z Fold 7, my colleague Rad said that was the model with which the company reclaimed the top dog status and engineering dominance it had.
The marketing campaign has already kicked off

This also fits Samsung’s latest mystery campaign. After wiping its Instagram, the company started teasing new devices with visuals that strongly allude to the Z Fold 8 series.
Considering all the activity, it would be surprising if there’s much of a delay to the event, which is rumored to be held in London.
Let’s see how this new shape works out
Whatever Samsung has in store, the Galaxy Unpacked event will certainly spark many conversations. Of course, everyone wants to hear about the wide Z Fold 8, but I’m also curious about the price of the new phones, and I hope it doesn't turn into the bigger news.
