Korean outlet ETNews (machine translated) reportedly found out that Samsung is planning to include the hardware-based privacy tech that debuted with the Galaxy S26 Ultra not just in the Galaxy S27 Ultra but also in the Pro model.
Officially called Flex Magic Pixel (FMP), the technology allows users to 'shield' sensitive information from prying eyes. It can be applied to the entire display or be set to kick in for specific notifications, even turned on and off, giving users unparalleled control over what's actually visible on their screen.
While the addition of this tech to the Galaxy S27 Ultra was expected, few rumors regarding its introduction on the Pro model have surfaced until now. The move might be motivated by Samsung's desire to differentiate the two models from the rest of the lineup.

The most logical upgrade
In our Galaxy S26 Ultra review, my colleague Vic explains just how useful the Privacy Display can be in specific situations. Of course, it's not a feature everyone will use daily, but it's a genuinely useful one to have nonetheless.
The Privacy Display generated so much buzz that other brands are reportedly looking to copy it. If you ask me, it's only logical for the South Korean tech giant to want to keep its edge over competitors and include the technology in its upcoming flagship phones.

What about that self-healing tech?

In case you missed it, there have been some reports about Samsung supposedly co-developing a new type of protective coating for its Galaxy S27 Ultra with Corning.
The technology, tentatively called self-healing glass, is presumably intended to allow the display to repair minor scratches on its own. However, ETNews' report doesn't back up the claim, so it's too early to tell whether there's any truth to it or it's just a piece of gossip.
I'm intrigued, but not sold (yet)
If Samsung really equips not one but two of its flagships with its groundbreaking Privacy Display, this would be a very smart move. It's one of those features that you may not particularly like or appreciate until you actually need it, and expanding it would allow Samsung to keep its edge over the competition.
Now, the self-healing tech... I think it sounds genuinely cool, especially if it's paired with the Privacy Display tech. But for now, I'm keeping my expectations modest.
