iPhone 18 Pro may get a competitor that’ll make you hate both its camera and battery

Fancy colors may not be enough to save the iPhone 18 Pro from this mighty Android flagship.

Apple has reportedly split the premiere of the iPhone 18 series to make space for the iPhone 18 Pro Max, but that may not be enough to face its competitors. The Oppo Find X10 Pro is expected around the same time as the flagship iPhone, and a fresh leak reveals it may have monstrous specs.

Leaked Oppo Find X10 Pro specs reveal a truly impressive phone

Oppo is expected to launch the whole Find X10 series in September, including the flagship Find X10 Pro. A new leak claims that the company will use the Dimensity 9600 chipset, which is expected to be built on a 2nm process and offer excellent performance.

Besides that, the device may feature a 200MP main camera with a 1/1.3” sensor made by Samsung, a 200MP telephoto camera, and a 3MP multispectral sensor, alongside an unspecified ultrawide shooter. The Find X10 Pro is also expected to feature a battery with at least 8,000 mAh capacity.

The spec list also includes a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED display, which may use a “new-generation Tianma” panel. There’s also wireless charging, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance on board.

Apple is under pressure

Last year’s Find X10 Pro was already a mighty competitor to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, but it appears Oppo is ready to move even further ahead with its successor. Apple is unlikely to offer any significant battery upgrades or design changes with the iPhone 18 Pro, focusing on some questionable camera improvements.

Meanwhile, the Dimensity 9600 is rumored to offer performance that could rival even Apple’s A-series chips, which could elevate the performance of the Find X10 Pro. The device will also join the growing list of phones with double 200MP cameras, while the iPhone 18 Pro is expected to get a variable aperture.

Everything points to Oppo preparing to launch an appropriate sequel to, as my colleague Peter put it in his in-depth review of the Find X9 Pro, “the most unhinged flagship of 2025.” That was already one of the finest Android smartphones, which may have lacked originality, but it made up for it with an exceptional battery life, solid design, and great camera and display.

Limited effect on the global market leaders

Apple is unlikely to react strongly to Oppo’s improvements, at least for the foreseeable future. The Chinese company’s phones are not sold in the US and have limited global release, which means they can’t truly compete with any iPhone.

While Samsung is also protected by the mere scale of its market presence across the world, the Galaxy S26 phones may be at bigger risk from such a competitor.

Please, Apple, change something

Just like many other Apple users, it’s very unlikely for me to completely switch to an Android phone, but if companies like Oppo continue making devices that are so much better than the best iPhones, I may consider it. As much as I like Apple’s ecosystem, the grass is looking ever greener on the other side.
