iOS 27 Beta 8 overview: Many bugs fixed, but many remain still
Apple is on track to release the iOS 27 RC right after the iPhone 18 event next week.

Just the other day, iOS 27 Beta 7 and iPadOS 27 Beta 7 were released for the iPhone and the iPad a week ago, and right on track, the company followed up on that with Beta 8 the other day.
We are less than a week away from Apple's new CEO John Ternus greet us for the first time, so the large team behind iOS 27 is already wrapping things up and polishing the proverbial package for its official release once the iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, and iPhone Ultra launch.
Beta 8 with build number 24A5430a succeeds Beta 7 with build number 24A5424a, but the list of new features is, well, pretty much non-existent. That's normal so late in the development cycle; usually, it's the first couple of betas the ones to introduce all the new features, with the subsequent ones fixing and polishing the introduced features and functionalities.
Oh, and for the record, iOS 27 Beta 8 will go down in history as the final Apple release under CEO Tim Cook, which stepped down in favor of John Ternus on September 1. An intriguing trivia tidbit that might win you a million dollars one day!
iOS 27 Beta 8: What's new
The majority of new features are essentially fixes of known bugs.
Many users over at the iOSBeta subreddit report that Beta 8 performs better than the previous weekly beta, Beta 7, but then again, many are reporting the opposite as well.
Others report poor animations performance and Siri stuttering, which could technically be the result of unfinished device indexing. I don't experience any such issues, but then again, different people experience different bugs and issues. No two phones or use cases are the same, remember.
Battery life is slightly better for many, and users are also reporting that their devices are generally "running cooler".
iOS 27 Beta 8: What's still broken (but will hopefully be fixed soon)
Still, many issues persist.
RCS messages fail to send for many, while regular texts go through as intended. Users report that this issue has been consistently happening for them for the past few betas on AT&T's network, which hints at a deeper underlying issue with RCS, AT&T, and iOS 27. The solution right now is to simply turn RCS off if you're experiencing such issues.
If you're experiencing weird noise-cancellation issues with a single AirPod only, you're not alone. It seems other users are also experiencing such an issue, which should hopefully be resolved in the RC or the goldmaster releases of iOS 27.
Connecting to CarPlay might also lead to your iPhone running iOS 27 Beta 8 to lag a lot, as pointed out by some users.
Browsing X also appears to be broken for many users, with lots of dropped frames and choppy scrolling. However, we shouldn't be quick to pointing fingers, as the issue might as well be entirely on X's part.
Users also report that Genmoji are broken and wouldn't allow them to finish the editing or creation process unless they cycle through all the available keyboards on the device.
iOS 27 RC: The gameplan
Next week, on September 9, Apple will announce the iPhone Ultra foldable as well as the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, likely along with the annual Apple Watch refresh. While iOS 27 probably won't get a lot of time under the limelight, we will most certainly get to learn about all the unique and exclusive iPhone Ultra/iPhone 18 Pro features during the event.
Right after it concludes, Apple will most probably seed out the iOS 27 Release Candidate build, which can be considered to be the one that all iOS users will be receiving a week later. Apple has the habit of releasing the official iOS version a week after its September event, which means that you will most certainly get iOS 27 on September 16.
