Oppo has switched chipset camps completely, opting for the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro in every flagship model, including the upcoming Find X10 Ultra.

While we're waiting for the Galaxy S27 Ultra to be one of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 Elite Extreme bannermen, another Ultra flagship phone chose differently. According to the latest leaks, the upcoming Oppo Find X10 Ultra camera flagship will use MediaTek silicon.

Oppo Find X10 Ultra to feature MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro

The leak comes from Chinese tipster Smart Pikachu, who posted on Weibo that Oppo could equip the upcoming Find X10 Ultra with the aforementioned MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset.

That information has been corroborated by another prolific leaker, Abhishek Yadav, who backed up Smart Pikachu on the Find X10 Ultra MediaTek claims.

Oppo switching chip suppliers

The previous generation, the Find X9 Ultra, which is still one of the best camera phones you can get, uses a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Oppo is obviously making a switch with the latest generation, as the already launched Oppo Find X10 Pro Max comes equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro chip.

One of the big reasons for the switch is the price of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 6 processors, which cost upwards of $300 to $320 per unit. For comparison, the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro, which is also manufactured on a 2nm node, costs significantly less at approximately $216 to $220 per unit.

Oppo Find X10 Ultra specs and features

Back to the Oppo Find X10 Ultra. There has been extensive spec leakage over the past couple of weeks, so we know almost everything about this new camera smartphone beast. The phone will most likely come equipped with a 200MP, 1/1.12-inch main camera supporting LOFIC tech.

The phone is expected to get two telephoto cameras, one featuring a 200MP 1/1.3-inch periscope sensor, and another 50MP 10x telephoto. The selfie camera could be the largest in the industry with its 100MP pixel count and square 1:1 ratio. The Oppo Find X10 Ultra is expected to launch early next year in China. Fingers crossed the model will have a global launch, just like its smaller brothers.
