Gemini, Google’s AI assistant, is once again deeply integrated into its Pixel phones. Last year’s Pixel unveiling revolved around the theme of getting information into users’ hands proactively, and that continues this year with the Pixel 11.
The Pixel 11 series will browse through your favorite apps to find the answer to your questions. For example, Gemini can help you find a perfect location for dinner or let you know which dates you have open to meet with a friend who is asking. Google says that Gemini Intelligence handles the busywork so you can put your focus on work.
Gemini Intelligence can be found throughout the Pixel 11 series. It drives the updated voice-to-text feature that filters out filler words like “um” and formats your thoughts into text that you can count on to be polished and written in a way that makes it easy for others to understand what you are trying to get across.
The purchase of a Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, or Pixel 11 Pro Fold will entitle the buyer to six free months of Google AI Plus (a value of $119.94), which includes 5TB of cloud storage and Google Health Premium.
Hands-free Gemini interactions on Pixel 11 will show up on the Pixel 11’s visual notification system HiLight with a soft visual cue to show when Gemini is listening, thinking, and responding without having to look at your front screen.
HiLight is an array of LED lights placed around the rear camera flash. These lights alert the user when their Pixel 11 model is face down that they have a call or some other reason to pick up their handset.
The TPU is the dedicated AI engine on the Tensor G6 that allows more AI tasks to be handled on-device where there is more privacy compared to cloud-based AI interactions.

The Tensor G6 processor carries a more powerful TPU
On-device AI is powered by the new Tensor G6. The architecture of the chip was co-designed by Google DeepMind right alongside the latest AI models, allowing Gemini Nano on Pixel 11 handsets to run with lower latency and higher quality.
The more powerful Tensor Processing Unit (TPU), together with the latest Gemini model, can help the user easily run complex AI workloads such as live translation or receive proactive assistance.
