If the brand-new Apple Watch Ultra 4 looks and feels a little too similar to its 2025-released predecessor to get you very excited or keen on spending $799, perhaps Amazon's first discount on Cupertino's latest rugged timepiece will help seal the deal.

This is obviously not very substantial, only slashing 20 bucks off that aforementioned list price, but it's clearly better than nothing, and if history is any indication, it's unlikely to be massively improved anytime soon. Unless you're a Prime member, of course, in which case you might want to wait a few more weeks and keep your fingers crossed.

If you're looking for the best rugged smartwatch to use with your Android phone, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is definitely the way to go, especially at this killer discount.

Powered by an all-new Apple S11 chip, equipped with a groundbreaking new Health Sensing System, capable of delivering more power between charges than its forerunners, and designed to look virtually the same as the 2025 edition at first glance, the Apple Watch Ultra 4 is somewhat surprisingly marked down by $20 from its $799 list price before its actual September 18 release.

If patience is not your number one quality, you should note that the fourth-gen Apple Watch Ultra does come with several important internal upgrades over last year's third edition, including a powerful new S11 chip that the Cupertino-based tech giant naturally boasted about during the official announcement of its latest outdoor-friendly smartwatch last week and a memory bump from 2 to 4GB that was not advertised (in keeping with Apple's bizarre traditions).

Basically, that means your day-to-day Apple Watch Ultra 4 user experience will be overall smoother than on the already blazing fast Apple Watch Ultra 3, and yes, both the battery life and heart rate monitoring accuracy are also vastly improved (at least in theory).

The reason this is all still theoretical, of course, is because the ultra-durable new smartwatch hasn't actually been released yet, which makes Amazon's pre-order promotion look that much cooler and harder to turn down.

September 18 is when deliveries are scheduled to commence, so if you want to be among the first people in the world to try out the Apple S11 chip, as well as Apple's proprietary new Health Sensing System, and see if the Apple Watch Ultra 4 can indeed stay charged for up to 84 hours (in Low Power Mode), now's definitely the time to pull the trigger and also save a few dollars in the process.
