A bunch of Apple Watch Series 3 models are on sale again, this time in refurbished condition
The Apple Watch might be easily the world’s most popular smartwatch, but although the only wearable device family that’s actually caught on in the mainstream tech scene continues to generate hefty profits for its Cupertino-based makers, Series 3 discounts have started to become a regular occurrence.

We’re mostly talking third-party retailers like Best Buy and B&H Photo Video, of course, with the former selling a wide selection of cellular-enabled models at marked-down prices again for 24 hours only.

Unfortunately, Best Buy’s “bonus deal of the day” today covers refurbished Apple Watch Series 3 units, so you may want to think twice before pulling the trigger here. Then again, these are “Geek Squad Certified” products in perfect working condition, guaranteed to function “like new”, rigorously inspected to ensure the “highest performance and quality standards”, and backed by a 90-day Apple warranty.

Compared to list prices, the Apple Watch Series 3 variants on sale today are available at a cool 20 percent off, starting with 38 mm aluminum models offered alongside different Sport bands for $319.20 a pop, down from $399.

Alternatively, you can pay $343.20 instead of $429 for one of five “standard” 42 mm configurations, or $479.20 after a $119.80 discount for a single 38 mm Space Black Stainless Steel flavor with a black Sport band. $519.20 buys you the same exact combo in a 42 mm size, and last but certainly not least, a Geek Squad Certified Refurbished Apple Watch Series 3 with GPS and 4G LTE connectivity fetches $639.20 after a $159.80 markdown with a 42 mm Space Black Stainless Steel case and a premium Space Black Milanese Loop.

Because for what they cost, there is zero value. But they can be useful depending on your lifestyle. They are just all too overpriced for what they offer. Convenience has always been expensive. But they aren't worth half the cost of a phone, with or without phone capabilities.
